Hi there wondering if anyway has had this, I went and had a scan yesterday thinking I may have been over 6 weeks, but there was only a sac with nothing inside the lady was very rude and told me it was too early and why I wanted to have this done, I am going to get more bloods on Monday and having another scan in two weeks, I have also be having cramps in my lower back this is my 3rd baby I am a little worried can anyone help thanks

it can just be too early, even at 7-8 weeks baby is only about 2mm long! so at 5-6 weeks (you could possibly be earlier than you think..and just being out by a few days can make a big difference in bubs development..) sometimes they just cant see baby yet. it could also mean that baby just hasn't formed, and there IS just a sac, meaning a chemical pregnancy (body thinks its pregnant but it isnt, essentially)... BUT keep positive, i know its freaky, but it could well turn out just fine. its the risk of getting a too-early scan Smile sounds like the scan lady was awful though.. not cool at all! hugs! xx

I had a scan at 5wks 1day and same thing. Then one at 7wks 1day and all was normal. So you might just have your dates out a bit...

At 7-8 wks it should measure approx 12-15mm Soda

Hopefully it was just too early for the scan, and all will be as it should at the next scan. I found at our 8 week scan that the placenta had (and was still) growing really well, and my weekly hcg results were going up as they should, but that the embryo had died between 5-6 weeks. We had another scan a couple of days later to confirm a missed miscarriage, and then a d & c the week after as i didn't want to wait and see when my body would decide to miscarry on it's own.
