Hi there,

Just wanting to hear feedback (good and bad) about the two main birth centres in Hamilton - River Ridge East and Waterford.

My midwife works out of both and am just after some feedback from anyone that has experienced either or both birthing centres.

I've used both, Waterford for babies 1 & 2, and River Ridge for number 3 (Waterford was full when I went into labour). They were both great, good facilities, friendly staff and yummy as food!

The birthing room I had at River Ridge only had a bath rather than a pool like at Waterford (but maybe there is a pool in the other birthing room? I don't know). I preferred the pool as there was more room to move around (I only laboured int he water anyway).

I would recommend either one. Talk to your midwife about getting a tour around them so that way you get a feel for each place. All the best!

I had Jacob at RiverRidge, and loved it. You're right, mummydee, one of the birthing suites has a pool, the other one has a bath. The nurses were lovely and the food was great. It was my birthday when I was in there, and the nurses even gave me a little bunch of flowers

We went and had a look around Waterford and I was really impressed so we might go with that one.

I haven't heard either but my best friend birthed at Waterford and LOVED it. I didn't hear a bad word about it 8) Good luck
