Hi there,
Just wanting to hear feedback (good and bad) about the two main birth centres in Hamilton - River Ridge East and Waterford. My midwife works out of both and am just after some feedback from anyone that has experienced either or both birthing centres. Thanks :) -------------

I've used both, Waterford for babies 1 & 2, and River Ridge for number 3 (Waterford was full when I went into labour). They were both great, good facilities, friendly staff and yummy as food!
The birthing room I had at River Ridge only had a bath rather than a pool like at Waterford (but maybe there is a pool in the other birthing room? I don't know). I preferred the pool as there was more room to move around (I only laboured int he water anyway). I would recommend either one. Talk to your midwife about getting a tour around them so that way you get a feel for each place. All the best! ------------- DS 8 DD 6 DS 4 DD 2 |

I had Jacob at RiverRidge, and loved it. You're right, mummydee, one of the birthing suites has a pool, the other one has a bath. The nurses were lovely and the food was great. It was my birthday when I was in there, and the nurses even gave me a little bunch of flowers -------------

We went and had a look around Waterford and I was really impressed so we might go with that one.
