is there a book or something I could show - not too graphic! that explains the baby in mummys tummy?

Eww sorry Liz but I saw that book in Whitcoulls and thought it was really sickly sweet and OTT. Might check out the other linked one though.
I've been telling Rowan there's a baby in my tummy for a few weeks but she hasn't got it and keeps looking at her tummy. But this morning when we were on the couch she pulled up my top and patted my tummy and said 'hello baby" so maybe it's starting to sink in.

Aww cute Rowan .
Kiddies understand more than we give them credit for I reckon so I've been telling Liam there's a baby in my tummy. He looks at me quite intently when I tell him so I'm sure something is sinking in. Time will tell

Yeah when we get preggie again we'll talk to Harry about the bubba in my tummy, and how he's going to be a big brother.... just to make it normal. I think Sally's right that they understand a lot more than we realise.
Harry also has a boy doll (his "bubba") that he looks after, and we've always encouraged him to be sweet and gentle with it, and give it kisses and cuddles - he's really pretty good around newborns, and I think alot of it is to do with that. He also has my old dolls cot/pram that he puts it in as well (thankfully they're nice and boyish!).

I have a great golden book called "Baby Dear" that DS loves! We are currently reading it 3 or 4 times a day.
Mac is slightly confused about the bubba and will point to his own belly and say "bubba"...hmmm >
When we say anything about the baby he just starts repeating "bubba Jack" who is the little baby at his DC. I am guessing we will get there eventually by just normalising the whole thing by talking about it.

Aww I love that book baby dear.
Umm KA I didn't think Jack really understood much but in hindsight I think he understood a lot more than I thought. We talked about the baby a lot and he was quite interested in babies. Caprece has no interest whatsoever in babies so I think they do know on some level.

Jake came over when we were about 2 weeks in and didn't even know ourselves and pulled my top up and started kissing my tummy. It was so random and adorable!! He now comes and kisses 'bubba' through the day regularly lol cute!
