Breastfeeding Chairs!

Hi all

I am trying to hunt down a breatfeeding chair, it doesnt need to be specially for that, but comfortable enough :)

I have looked at the ones farmers sell, similar to the mocka ones and really didnt find them that comfortable and were too laid back

Ideally I would love an old fashioned wooden rocking chair but cant find anywhere they sells them new.

any one have any suggestions for me?

I hated having a wooden rocking chair. It just wasnt comfortable.

I really recommend either a lazyboy or a comfy chair with a foot stool. I think the foot stool is the main thing i always wanted to rest my feet on, id get dead legs easily so with a foot stool i could stretch out etc.

Also the wooden ones! Try the Sallies and other 2nd Hand/Op shops! Ring around and see if they can source one for you! I have seen a few over the last year at our Sallies, seems they get one every couple of months or so!

i got an arm chair like a lazyboy but much cheaper at big save. it has a foot rest, but doesn't recline - which worked for us because the nursery is so small there is no room to recline. I think it was about $300. Microfibre suede covering, so not posh, but we've thrown a wrap over it and it's fine.

I honestly found sitting/lying on the couch or bed the best thing. DS woud kick anything with arms and end up unlatching all the time.

I have one of the Mocka ones with the foot stool and have found it great, haven't found it too laid back, but I do put a cushion behind my back. I liked the price of them as well.

I looked at the ones at baby city and I am not impressed at the fabric of them. It is the type of fabric that is going to tear and rub really easy.
Just be warned if you buy one of these.

I am going to start testing out breastfeeding chairs later in pregnancy. I figure if I am comfortable in them when I am really fat, then they will be comfortable with a baby in my arms.

I agree re the mocka ones not being comfy, cuz I wanted one too!
We got a lazy boy style material one from teh warehouse, last i saw they were $199 on clearance, it has the perfect smooth rock, is cheap, material cleans well (cuz invariably gets the odd milk spill on it) and the arm rests are in a good position to get real comfy. highly recommend! I originally wante dleather for easy clean, but practically it would be cold in winter and sticky and sweaty in summer so happy with the material one now! is a brown kinda suade.
Baby city ones the fabric is abit gross and the second hand oens i have seen on trade me have rips so i don't think they are very hardy.

I agree, I always wanted one so we found one when I was pg with Jack. It wasn't really that comfy.

We bought two lazy-boy style chairs off TradeMe, and they're wonderful. I have one in the lounge, and one in his room. We got them as a suite with a two-seater for $300ish (the set cost $4000 new, so I thought we got a pretty good deal)
