Tom still has a dummy for sleeping. this isnt a huge issue for me as he is a great sleeper and if thats what it takes then so be it. We'll cross that bridge when it comes.
But.....our problem is he drops his dummy down the side of his cot and then calls out for us. This has become somewhat of a game to him.
On Sunday, after 4 dummies met their fate, I warned him that if he did it again, he wouldnt get them back as "Mummy cant reach them". Ok, maybe he is too little to understand. He did it again! So I went in and told him I couldnt reach them and that he would have to go to sleep without them. Well!!! We had crying for 2 hours!!!!
I went in and cuddled and patted him, explained that he was a big boy and could do it. Mummy was still there etc. Nothing helped! In the end I had to "find" another one for him, leaving the originals under the bed. He was asleep in seconds and then a very subdued boy after that. I felt awful. Especially so when I discovered 2 molars the next day.
However. That night, he got his dummy for bed and what did he do? Threw it down the back of his cot...Grrrr!!!! Stern words from Daddy and he was ok.
Yesterday nap was great...no prob. Last night, problems again.
Now he has been in bed for 1hr20 and no sleep (he was tired and normally falls asleep in minutes). The dummy has been thrwon down so many times. He is now trying to pull things off the wall.
HELP!!!! any ideas???? do I need to toughen up? I feel like I may have gone too far the other day by let him cry for 2 hours ( I was with him a lot of that as I decided it was the dummy he wasnt allowed, not mummy).
