Hi
I've just found out I'm expecting number 2 and number 1 is only 3months old.
Do any of you other ladies have babies so close? how do you cope?
thanks
Lauren

Congrats BabyLo. There are a couple of ladies on here with small gaps and I'm sure they'll find this post but didn't want to read and run.

wow thats smaller than my age gap hehe.

I got pregnant when DS had just turned 5 months old.

The pregnancy itself was pretty ok, was hard through the MS period, but after that it was ok, I was more tired than normal but thats it.

Afterwards it was quite tricky, as I had a CS(had an emerg one with DS) but we muddled on through Its not really that hard! You will find what works for you!

Congrats and good luck!

ETA - The age gap between my kids is 14 months

Thank you Sheza!
I had a natural birth with my daughter so hope to be able to do the same again..
My daughter is pretty easy which I'm super lucky about. I'm not breastfeeding, it just did not work for us and she was loosing weight and I was getting depressed about it.

Morning sickness has started to rear it's ugly head so I hope it's not too bad. I had it mild last time but I know each pregnancy is different.

Do you enjoy the kids being so close now Sheza? Are they close?

My girls are 13.5months apart and it is amazingly wonderful. Pregnancy was rather tiring, however I did have DD1 with me 24/7 no breaks/Daycare/family help etc.
Everyone used to say how hard it was going to be etc, but I find it really easy, which I was really surprised about. The first 3-4 weeks were probably the hardest as you are getting used to a NB again and the other one will be on the move which can be stressful, especially when you are feeding baby and you cant see/hear the other one. And even if it is hard, when you see you 1year old kissing the baby a cuddle and kisses...well, it is just the most amazing thing ever.

I have a 1yo DS and 3months preg again, so will be 19 months between. I am 16months older than my brother. My Mum said that yes it can be full on and tiring but then we became great playmates. Where as I know others who wait till baby number 1 is say 3 or 4 and then get preg again and say they were just getting there independance back when they got preg again...were as us with babies close in age will get it all out of the way asap! ;-) There must be pros and cons for each, but roll with it and I am sure you will do just fine.

I have an 18 month gap and its tiring but fun...

Monikah is the person Kelly is referring too, not sure she is posting much atm but she made it sound easy

Pregnancy during T1 and T3 were hard for me, ms and caring for a baby is not pleasant then by the time T3 came i had a full on active toddler who didnt walk, he ran...everywhere.. and climbed everything! Not a good look being 9 months pg chasing a wee one around the mall and them being faster than you LOL

I am in no hurry to add to the clan, 2 under 2 is plenty for me but I wouldnt change a thing, they are going to be besties soon and I expect I will be grey

I think that was melnel Kelly, my 2 are going to be 17 mths apart which is basically what my older brother and sister was, and then 15 mths to me then 15 mths to my younger brother.

My mum says it was very hard at the beginning especially as it was basically just her (Dad was a shift worker and studying) but we do grow up really close and had lots of fun with games, and even for school (and my mum homeschooled us through most of primary school lol) its was pretty fantastic having playmates the same age at home.

Personally (with no experience yet) at least for the first little while you will have a nonmoving baby through early pregnancy, and I love the idea of having the baby stage (nappies especialy) over and done with.
Kiara is 3 and Teagan is 2, now we're expecting our long awaited 3rd!

A friend of mine had her first two 11 months apart (not planned that way!). She had good family support, and the two boys are great mates.

That's around abouts what my two will be. I'm due Aug 10 and my daughter was born Sept 2..So 11.5 months or closer 12 months if I go overdue.
I'm feeling a bit more confident about the two being so close. Still scarey. I think it's just coz baby is still young. Once I get further on and baby gets older I might get my head around it better!

Limochick is expecting her wee girl Jan 19th I think and her DS wont quite be 1yo yet, so just under 12 months between them!
We were originally going to have 2 close together as we only want two kids but then we decided against it. Just don't think I'd be able to cope with a pregnancy and a baby! But that's just me...... I'm lazy and it just seemed like too much hard work lol
Huge congrats tho and good luck!

CONGRATS on your pregnancy

My youngest son was 9wks old when I got pregnant, I took 7 tests to make sure . The pregnancy has had it's ups and downs and I'm quite tired alot of the time but that could be due to the fact that I have 2 older ones as well. I can't give you any advice as to what it's going to be like yet, I've got 32 days till our little girl arrives (by c-section).

I speak to Mon sometimes on facebook and she does make it seem very very easy though I'm still nervous about the next year!!

Oh and our new baby will be born a week before Quins bday, they are called irish twins if they are born within 12months of each other

One of my best friends has two boys 11 months apart. She found it quite difficult for the first year or so, but she had no family support at all. After that she found it quite easy as they were so close in age, that their schedules worked well with each other. The boys are now 8 and 9 and they are the best of friends.
There is no sibling rivalry at all, as they both have the exact same rules - bedtimes, allowance etc.
