To everyone who's feeling down - yes, it sucks! I was at a baby shower last weekend and actually started crying there. Luckily it was a couple who have been through IVF and she was the only one who saw and came outside for a chat so it wasn't catastrophic, but there's a limit to how much one can go through!
Icecream - progress?! Hope the blood test was wrong!!
AFM, not really good news yesterday. From all the follicles I had, they only got four eggs. And I just got the call before that only two have fertilised. A really really crappy outcome so far, not what I or the clinic expected at all. The teller is apparently when the cells start dividing and that will happen tonight or tomorrow, so they'll call me again then. They're looking at Friday for transfer though. I've pretty much gone down the route of not expecting this to work (self-protection measure!) Sorry to be such a downer!

Hugs epic! Each stage of IVF is such a rollercoaster isn't it! 2 have made it so fingers crossed they are strong and healthy and cute. Will be thinking of you.
I am waiting around for Day 1. Was expected this Friday (15th) but as I have mentioned, this may change due to slightly later ov this month. Just want to get into it now! Hope I don't have to wait another week or something crazy

Mrs I - glad your blood test went well yesterday Phoofy - good luck for your test on Friday. Fingers crossed for ya
I sure now how hard it is to keep up at times in this journey. Have just had my three closest friends all give birth to their second babies (since I've been TTC) in the last two weeks. Excited for them! But....
Really, really, really trying to keep strong and positive as don't want to go into an IVF cycle emotional and stressed. It is not helping trying to recover from a really bad throat infection I have been battling for a week and a half. Typical, the only month I get sick this year is the IVF month haha

Red - Have a talk to Jackie, she will tel you that having something that has broken down your immune system a bit is a good thing as it means your body is less likely to attack a foreign object when transferred. Hope AF hurries up for you so you can get on with it and we will be doing it at the same time Epic - I'm so so sorry that the result wasn't as good as we all hoped. I am so worried that I will be in the same boat as I don't seem to react to drugs overly, that is why I have been on a long cycle to wipe my hormones to then kick start everything with lots of drugs once I had down regulated, which luckily I have but I have to keep my fingers crossed that I will react to the drugs and amp up so to speak. Hoping that those 2 fertilised bubs are good strong ones and your transfer goes well xxxxx Rachfizz - Hugs, the journey really sucks sometimes

I don't know what I'd do without this particular thread to be honest. I used think 'Under 30' was the thread for me and I'd stick to that but now....my home is here. It's where I feel most happy.
Hugs to you all. I think of you often even if I struggle to keep up with where everyone's at!

Thanks Mrs I, yes Jackie wil reassure me I'm sure
epic - I found I didn't respond much at all to the drugs during my IUI last Summer. They have got me on a really low starting dose of Puregon this time round (as my AMH is really good), but I can't help but worry a bit that it wont do enough. They have explained to me that it is like using the same ingredients but in a different recipe to get a different result. Just have to trust they know what they are doing
KNow what you mean bc - I miss a day or two on this thread and so much going on to read back on!

With you BC and RD, this thread is awesome!
Got the call from the clinic before, one of our embies is looking better than the other (don't know what grades, was too scared to ask). Will ask tomorrow though. Transfer is for 11.30am! Our friends had their IVF baby this morning, gives me hope that this can happen!

Hi ladies! Hope you don't mind me popping in here. I've been very MIA from the threads of late, with 7 CP (4 in a row)now under my belt. But am so happy to see so many of my favourite people in here!!!! I hadn't posted in this particular one before - but feel like this may be more the place for me than the TWW one. Even still I am a litle hesitant to jump back in, don't know why - it's all just so hard.I had an appointment with FA today and the first place I thought to go to about it was here. Hugs to all you ladies having to still endure this long journey I will have a proper read back, but wanted to say Epic!!! I am sooooo excited to come on here and see that IVF is finally under way for you!! I have evrything crossed that the one time is all it's going to take. So AFM - am just on CD10, and have a follicle scan tomorrow morning. At the appointment today - my doc is now talking IVF (see why I needed you ladies) I don't know anyone that has had IVF before so didn't really know who I could talk to and I REALLY wasn't expecting him to go there. He thinks that it's the best next step. I could always try some of the drugs that are used for IVF for a couple of cycles but without the actual IVF part - and it would be cheaper (not a heck cheaper but still) but also said the chances with IVF would be higher - so put that against the extra cost...... Plus he said it might also give them the closest look possible, to what may be causing "not so sticky baby" problem - when he sees the little mites in the dish etc While now after 2.3 years of trying, I am willing to try anything, I am a little worried that this is a big jump from just taking clomid and progesterone......to IVF! He suggested that if (and I remember him telling me this at my very first appt in Feb)clomid didn't work after 6-9 months, the chances are that it won't. I'm of course going to talk it over with DH and take a couple of months to think about it (finish this clomid cycle then just go all natural as a semi break the next cycle), but am very keen on your advice. We would be going private so could start whenever we wanted - but will also cost alot!! Thanks so much ladies, and I really hope you don't mind me popping in here I look forward to "talking" to you all again.

All the best for tomorrow Epic. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
Storm - we have also been trying a long time (around 3 years) and after having lots of tests and a laparoscopy earlier this year we got told IVF is probably our only option. It was certainly a shock at the time but I am hopeful it will do the trick. It helps being on this thread to hear how everyone else is going. We are scheduled for March next year so just playing the waiting game some more. I think it takes a bit of time to wrap your brain around but once you do it's full steam ahead :-)

Best wishes for tomorrow epic! Monkeys totally remember tiff was stoked when she got her bfp! Storm welcome to the fold. Your appt was totally positive even if a bit overwhelming. Good support crew in here with many running the ivf train as we speak. My first instinct is to jump all in and have the ivf. I know it's a huge cost but you know you can get utd it's staying utd that needs attention. But that's just me!
Started packing my office today - yes with a month left to go! Theresa tonne of stuff that needs sorting so might as well start lol. Feels great to be cleaning out!

Red - What dosage of puregon are you on? I don't overly react to drugs either and I have been put on 300ml puregon as of next Wednesday
BC - Love this thread, can't wait until we have a BFP in here
Epic - All the best for tomorrow for picking up your baby
Storm - It is expensive, I can definately atest to that but if that is what they are suggesting as your next step then I guess that is what they believe is the best for you, so they can monitor your bubs before the transfer and pick the strongest one. All the best, there are a few of us going through it at the moment with a fair few others starting in the New Year
