Neosha is 10 months and generally a really good girl sleeps from 6pm till 7am and has 2 day sleeps, she is generally easy to entertain and causes little fuss while shopping. BUT NOW we have a issue, she is constantly hitting me, I dont know if she picked it up from DH and I when we playfight which we do alot but then we never hit as such its more tickling and pushing eachother off the couch and she normally comes and jumps on us. ANyway whenever she sees the cat she hits it along with the dog who is so small she wimpers but its really embarressing when people pick her up and she slaps them in the face. The other thing is that when she doesnt get what she wants she screams so loud high pitched and everything, this has only started in the last couple of weeks but is getting worse. What do I do about the hitting and smacking? I tell her no but she just laughs at me and does it more. BTW I dont smack her at all and have never done it

Kryssi has recently started both of these too. Don't think others will think bad of you (for hitting etc) because of it; it's very, very common. If you want to nip it in the bud you'll have to act swiftly and consistently. So deliberately take her off your lap and onto the floor each time she does it - just for a few seconds and then you can pick her up again if she wants. But if she hits again, say no and put her straight back on the floor.

The screaming is harder cause a 1yo doesn't have words yet. I sometimes hold Kryssi's hand open and say "please, Mama" in a nice tone and then give her what she wants (if in reason!). It's not much but hopefully it will teach her a softer voice - fingers crossed!

yeah thanks, I would like to get it sorted out now because its one of those things that are just really annoying.
The first thing I thought was alright who has been hitting her because I didnt think they could just make it up on their own lol. But I guess it is common. I will try these things and see how I go
