 Dag nab it there's a voluntary recall of Matell (FP) Sesame St and Dora toys purchased in NZ (made in China) since May 2006 - apparently there's toxic levels of lead in the paint on some of them. I'll be so annoyed if Ella's Cookie Monster/Elmo phone has to go - it's such a great toy (she loooves to suck on the painted top...  oh dear). The number to ring is 0800 174 063 but good luck getting through - I haven't got through on it yet today. Grrrrr!!!------------- Andie |

We have the elmo guitar but it has a different code, so I assume it is ok. |

you have to send them back to Mattel - not the stores...
we bought the giggling elmo / cookie monster ball at toys r us the day the announcement came out in oz...nice of toys r us to tell us!!!! but cant imagine ella will get her mouth anywhere near it cause it rolls too fast so am not gonna bother.... was weird how all the sesamestreet and dora toys were really really cheap that day tho! hmmmmm...... |

I just went to the website and looked at the list of toys, Xanda has the Elmo guitar, so at the bottom of the list it had some check boxes, and I clicked the one that says I think I own one or more of these toys. It then took me to another page and asked if I had bought it prior to May 2007 or after May 2007. The ones affected are the ones bought after May 2007, so if you purchased any of the toys on the list after May 2007, go to the website and it tells you what to do. ------------- http://www.bump-and-beyond.com/">
