and..........I have to start taking metformin to try to balance my hormones so over the next 4 weeks I am taking it and building up the levels if no AF in 6 weeks i have to take Provera to bring on AF and then take Clomid in conjunction with the metformin. i have also been put on the waiting list for ovarian drilling to try to sort my ovaries out which i should have done in the next 6-8 weeks. and if all this doesn't work i will get an appointment in 6 months time and go on the IVF waiting list. so fingers crossed it works in the next 6 months or so .

Good luck. I bet its great to actually have a plan and taking action rather than sitting and waiting which is what it seems like all you ladies who go through this have to do. waiting waiting and more waiting!

Yay yay yay!!!

Glad there is good news for you. I tried the metformin a couple of years ago and did not tolerate it... BUT now I am diabetic and am on it again with very few probs.

Just a couple of points of advice if I may... I always take mine after eating my meal so my tummy is full, not as I am starting my meal or before. AVOID lollies, excess fruit (particularly dried) and anything else that has lots of sugar. One piece of cake or a biscuit or dessert is OK, but not a pack of lollies or a block of choc. The side effects of too much sugar is really bad tummy cramps and the most horrendous diarrhoea... (TMI I know). The tummy pains can really hurt, so just not worth it (and I'm not the only one that I know of who has said that about too much sugar either). Take it easy over the first couple of days with it - it can take a bit of getting used to. If you can, start with one on day 1, 2 on day 2 etc till you are at full dose or only one a day for a few days is even better.

Don't want to preach, but I struggled the first time I took it because I never knew all this, am much better now.

Good Luck chicky!!! Pleased it all went well and you have a plan and a path to travel down now. Hugs hun!

Thanks kirsty thats all great to know the specialist did say that diarrhoea is a side effect but i'm glad it can be managed by diet, i'm easing myself in to them aswell the specialist said to take half a tablet once a day for 1 week then half morning and night for 1 week then 1 in morning and 1 at night for 1 week then by week 4 i take 1 whole one morning and night so hopefully my body will get use to it that way.

its always great to know of 'real people' that have taken the drugs tho and can give ya advice from experiance so thanks heaps its a great help!

Hi Noodle. Good luck on the met

I am up to 4 pills a day but I'm dropping it back to 3 because I get too sick
Kirsty is right, always take with food and avoid sugary and fatty or creamy foods.

Unfortunately I always have diahorrea on met no matter what I eat which sucks. Just make sure you keep up your fluids if you have any problems like that!

My mum is on 4 pills a day and she has no problems whatsoever.

All the best chick! Keep us posted!

Hey Noodle - looks like you have a plan of attack and a great attitude. a friend of mine had her ovaries drilled and became pregnant not long after, needed this for the second pregnancy too, not sure about the latest though.

Good Luck
