I can not believe how sore my boobs are at just 8wks6days,

sorry about the silly question

Get a fitted normal bra, maybe a sports bra or something. Don't get a maternity bra until right near the end because, believe me, anything you buy now WON'T FIT by the time it comes to the end of the pregnancy

Yep, totally agree with Ana. Also found that as your tummy gets bigger, underwire is really uncomfortable so maybe if u can get away without wire, but one without. I have just bought a maternity bra and it is soooo comfy

Fire away with the questions as well - they are def not silly, should see some of mine! - everyone is great at answering them!!

I am still wearing my underwire bras...tho they are a bit smaller now...but still comfy enough. However when the bub decides to stick her foot right under my ribs...it gets a bit uncomfy....

I am going to buy my maternity bras at 37-38 weeks....if I can still walk around then!

I bought my maternity bras at 37 weeks, and Maya was born a week later. I found that even having them fitted so close to the birth, once my milk came in they were on the tight side until my supply settled.

If you can get away with it, those soft crop top things might be comfortable (my boobs are waaaay to big for that tho!), otherwise like everyone else has said go for a bra without wires.

Glad someone asked about bra's - i'm carrying a couple of bazooka's already I'm hoping they're not going to get too much bigger or there is a good chance they'll be larger than my baby belly!!! I'm going to go shopping this weekend for a bra or two - might go for a couple of the berlei's as you suggest Lizzle

Thanks guys,

i went and got fitted for a bra (with no underwire) and boy it was great to be able to walk down stairs without wincing in pain.

The person who fitted me suggested i buy maternity bras at about 5mths but we will see how it goes, im just pleased to be in a bra that is comfortable finally.

Thanks for all your help

it's ctually recommended not to wear bras with wires anyway cos they can press on all the developing parts of the boobs and cause probs.. maybe it's a good thing that they cause so much pain. and yep the sports bras i found were great also!

Hey I just thought I'd let you know that I found some maternity bras at Farmers that are only $10 that go up to at least DD cup. Was rather excited about this discovery as most bras that go up to that size are SO expensive. I have found it just as comfy and supportive as my $60 ugly beige lacy one These ones are just plain (white or black) t-shirt kind with no seams.

yah I saw those.....more brand huh? Did you get any? I am a bit confused as to what size to get. I mean I am usually a C cup (yah massive) and the C cup I tried was very comfy and fit me well. But should I buy a D cup? I mean I am sure once my milk comes thru my breasts will get bigger! or am I wrong?

Yeah I got a couple of the More brand ones. I got fitted. Am normally a DD/E cup. I ended up getting some in those sizes (but with a bigger back size) that had a little bit of room left in the cup, but can still tighten up the back size. Does that make sense?

Yap Aimee makes sense.....when I went to farmers and asked what size they think I should get...they gave me a blank look...., and when I said okay if I buy and its the wrong size and I dont wear it can I return it? they said oh well, we have a two week return period....well that wont work!!!! So I never bought the bra's. I also saw another one (cant remember the brand)...it was a lace one but very comfy. $26.95 I think it was.

Yap Rebecca, cant wait to meet her now, my hubby keeps saying dont you think its about time she came out? You had all to your self for way too long.....awwww how cute!!

I find buying maternity bras a pain - can never find the size I want.  I went up anther size when my milk came in, but after a couple of weeks went back to the size I was just before I had baby.  Prepregnancy I was a 14c, at my biggest I was proberly a 14E.  Just brought a 12F the other day, I find that once my size 14's stretch I can't do them up tight enough.  It was hard work finding a 12F that was low enough to wear with most of my V neck tops.

Roksana, if you can, go to a lingerie store. they have staff trained to fit and answer proper questions...and they are pretty helpful. it does cost a wee bit mnore, but you'll regret getting the wrong bra.

My tip of the day would be to consider getting a crop top thing to wear to bed when your milk comes thru, I found my breasts were leaking and the only way to sleep comfortably without waking up in the wet patch was to wear a crop top with (*mind goes blank*) nursing pads (is that what they are called? The things that stops the milk leaking? Maybe i need to go back to bed)

I've been having the worst trouble with bras and have been going up a cup size every few months and I can't seem to find a bra thats comfortable and that supports me enough. *sorry bras just make me angry!*

With my first pregnancy I bought a maternity bra one cup size bigger a 10E, which by the time my milk came in was way too small. I found because I got so big and have a resonably small frame that as well as a bra I needed to wear one of those support singlets with the hidden support as well. I have found this time in the early days I could get away with just wearing a support singlet with no bra which was sooo comfy and you wouldn't be able to guess I wasn't wearing a proper bra.

As for the Farmers return policy I had that debate last week when buying my maternity bras. If you ask for a gift exchange card rather than just the reciept then you have up to a month to return it.

well that is just plain stupid dont you think? I mean do people at farmers have any brain?......Ohhh can you tell I am pissed off?

I am still waering my underwire 14C bra's now...they fit just fine! But I know not for long! This weekend I will go and buy the bras from Farmers and ask for a exchange card (Thanks Helen).

Hey Helen how are you doing? we are only 2 days apart....is your bub engaged yet? I am hoping to find out today if mine is.....

I'm not too bad, soooo emotional though which isn't like me. I think I started nesting the other day, I ended up polishing and dusting absolutely everything more than once! Josh stopped me when I went to do the gardening at 6:30pm!
Buds has been engaged for the past two weeks, I've been getting lots of aches and pains the midwife says it's probably my cervix softing.
I'm feeling so huge at the moment and am secretly hoping bubs will come a little bit early.
Goodluck with Farmers, some of those people are just useless some of the act like they have never even been trained! Hopefully your bubs is engaged, it makes breathing so much easier! Do you know if your having a boy or girl?

Posted By: Roksana
Date Posted: 14 October 2005 at 9:10am
Oh the whole nesting thing kicked in weeks ago for me....I have been a complete nutter!!! Every body laughs at me....I've always been a clean and tidy person but not to this degree......I hope I am back to normal after the bub is born!! One thing I dont do is gardening....thank God for a small garden!!!

Yah I found out yesterday day that my bub is 1/5th engaged, which is good news!!! I am having a Girl!! What about you?

It's just a shame they don't go bigger in the cup - I would quite happly buy cheap bras if they had big enough cup sizes, and if the stores had the larger sizes in stock

When I was younger boys would always look at my breast while talking to me....arrrgggg....I wanted to get a ops done to reduce them.....they seem bigger and heavier now, but I dont mind them so much.

I would go by what lizzie said and go somewhere where you can be fitted properly and given correct advice. I read the other day (I think it was in the treasures mag...) that underwire bras aren't good for the milk when it's in and you shouldn't sleep with the bra on. I always sleep with mine on because a.) I have GIANT boobs, hehehehe and it is damn uncomfortable to not have them supported and b.) I hate the leaking!!

Hi roksana, i think you are talking about a triumph bra, and i have been reccomending them to everyone, they are the best maternity bras I have, and reasonable price, too. i would have to agree the farmers staff were ABSOLUTELY uselss when it came to fitting, they had no idea (thats what you get when you employ 15 year olds). Also, my milk nevr came in, and my bust size never changed. THe staff in the hosptial help you out with all that! Good Luck!

I found that I leaked heappps with my first pregnancy but only at night and that started from about 20weeks, it was scary but at least I knew I had heaps of milk for when my little girl arrived. This time I haven't leak at all and I must admit I'm a little worried that I might have trouble breast feeding this time round.

Hi Roksana it's great to hear your bubs is engaged. We don't know if we are having a boy or girl, decided to have a suprise this time round aftering finding out with our first. Bubs has been engaged for nearly 3weeks now and has been 2/5 for all that time. I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow and hoping to hear that it has moved down even more. I'm more than ready to have bubs now, I'm just so sore and uncomfortable all the time. My father in law has guessed the sex of all four of his grandkids so far and been right and he says I'm having a boy and that it will be born this wednesday which just happens to be his birthday. It will be interesting to see if he's got it right this time.

Good Luck Roksana! sounds like it might be sooner ather than later!!!
Also another tip, I find the pidgeon nursing pads the best as they keep you really dry, best for overnight, or else you and hubby will wake up soaking!!
Also the "pain down there" like a bowling ball between your legs??? that happened to me in the last 2 weeks leading up to Jake being born, worst on the day before, so be ready!!! Good Luck!!!!

Oh it shouldnt be far away Roksana... Yeah you sound like your bodys getting ready for bubs to arrive.. Period pain an actually be the first part of labour... some people can be like it for a few days or a few weeks... if bubs is really low it may stop your waters from breaking.... my friend was like that for a weeks and she was so uncomfortable she could hardly walk.. so i told her to come round and get on her knees and bounce up and down for a while on the trampoline.. she did and then went into proper labour a couple of hours later.. her midwife said if she didnt do that she may have been like it for another week or so... my lil girl is engaged now..... BUM 1st.. so looks like it will have to be a c-section for me.. im felling a lil bummed, but drs say she might be on her way any day now... I know im organised for her arrival but I still feel like Im misiing something and it really bugs me..

On sunday I started getting so excited, I thought labour was starting at 2pm I started getting period pain like contractions, by 4pm I was lying down because they were sooo painful, more painful than when I was in labour with my daughter. The contractions were between 5 and 7 minutes a part, we were both thinking yay it's finalling happening! By 630pm everything just stopped completely!! It was sooo disappointing! Saw my midwife and she thinks it sounds like my body is just starting to warm up and I could go into labour sooner rather than later but whos knows. I don't want to get my hopes up and still have a long wait.

Josh got home last night and decided we should go for a walk as thats what bought on labour for a friend of ours. We walked(I waddled!) for an hour, still nothing.

Any ideas on hurrying things a long? Bubs is sooo big already I think I'd pop if it stays there too much longer!

Hmmm....same here....I waddle around work and they laugh at me.....dammit!!

Mind you I dont feel like I am ready for bub, meaning I dont feel like I have done all I wanted around the house.....my bub has done all the right things on all the right time (according to MW and Doc)....so I am hoping she will be a good baby and come out soon.

Trust me I know how you feel aimeejoy, a friend of mine who is due on the 9th of november(a week after me) has just rung me to let me know she has just had her healthy baby boy!! It's not fair!

Oh well maybe another long walk tonight will help things a long!

We have had everything all ready for so long and the bassinet is all made up, the only thing missing is the baby. I've just got no patience anymore. I went ten days over due with my daughter and I really don't think I could cope with that this time. I guess I just really want to meet bubs as well as just being so tired of all the aches and pains. I don't even care if I have a really long labour, at least something would be finally happening!

Thanks for letting me have a moan, blame it on the hormones. I'm just having a very emotional afternoon.

When I had my show and waters broke (at same time) it was my due day (well, it was 2am) and we had been booked in to be induced a few days later because of high blood pressure, so it was a surprise, as bub was only 2/5 down. I sat down and bawled my eyes out, and kept saying over and over I'm not ready! I think thats normal!!! are we ever ready?

that bowling ball feeling was so bad in the last day, i was sure jacob had dropped more, too, but when I went up to the hospital, he was still only 2/5, so they gave me soemthing to bring his head down, or else I would have been in labour for ever! The whole thing only took 10 hours from the show/waters to the end. You'll be fine, its such an exciting if a little overwhelming time!

When I was pregnant with Chloe she had dropped 2/5 but then she moved back to 1/5 which was really disappointing but that night I went into labour. I don't really know why it happened but it made for a really long labour(18hours).
