Emma Rose's new favourite way to terrorise the dog -- and me -- is pinching. She pinches the poor dog's belly, and pinches my neck when I hold her. It really freaking hurts, too -- I had no idea her grip could be so strong! Usually when she does it to me, I immediately say NO PINCHING in a firm voice, put her down, and don't make eye contact with her for a few seconds. Inevitably, she's doing it when she's tired and grumpy, so putting her down means she starts grumping at me. The poor dog handles it well -- he gets up and goes outside -- but I can't exactly do that...

How did you handle the Pinchmonster?

Nah, she doesn't really "get" that -- she just thinks it's funny. She doesn't have any concept of consequences yet, she's too little... Sigh.

I would just say no, that hurts mummy, put her down or put her in her room for a minute or so. If you just keep doing that, and not reacting, hopefully she will get bored with it soon. Good lcuk.
