Hi we have just found out that we are expecting (First child) and want to know if its compulsory to do all the blood tests ect and recommendations =)

Hey,

It isn't compulsory, but I'd definitely get the first set of bloods done, as well as the 20 week anatomy scan and glucose testing later in pregnancy. These things check for any problems, and while hopefully there won't be any, if there are they could save you or your baby's life. So def worth it in my opinion, esp since there are no known risks. :)

Thankyou Mushroom =) we definitely had planed on the first set of bloods and the anatomy scan .But for first timers you get so much info and options its hard to choose whats best for you and your baby .
