Looking for some advice or guidance.
I am currently 24weeks pregnant in Lower Hutt City with mine and my partners 1st baby. I had an amazing midwife who I had been with since I was 3 weeks pregnant but recently my midwife handed me over to the hospital midwife team due to being red flagged from the hospital (due to domestic violence phone calls to the police when I was younger/a teenager with my family). I was very upset about this. Then a week later we had a lovely lady turn up to our house to speak to us with what had happened. My partner and I explained the situation to her she then advised us that we did not need her/hospital team and that we would be better off with our midwife or another LMC midwife which she would find for us. A week later I then got a phone call from her saying my old midwife had not accepted to having us back and she was not able to find us another available LMC midwife.
I am very stressed out and upset as all of this could have been avoided. I have not been able to keep food down and have been crying most days as I am scared as this is mine and my partners 1st baby and we are now so far into our pregnancy.
I truly just want the best for us and our baby but this last 3 weeks has brought us nothing but worry.

You poor thing! Try www.findamidwife.org.nz. If a private obstetrician is an option, Barton and Meera work at Boulcott Hospital. Both are lovely people.

If there are no available LMCs, can the hospital team not look after you until a potential LMC becomes available?

This is such a terrible situation that you're in. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Try not to stress too much as the LMC's at the hospitals are great if need be. I feel that it is more the situation and your midwife that is not taking you back on board that is very upsetting. I found my midwife through google, also if there is an aftercare facility in your area- you can call them and they usually have a list of midwives. Try and relax and know that all will be okay in the long run. Enjoy your pregnancy :) xxx

Awww this is an awful situation. You should try to get hold of my amazing midwife Julie Thompson from Birthworks. You can contact her via the birthworks pager. She is amazing. I think she is pretty hard to get in to, but you may get lucky. She is very friendly and laid back, but also very competent and a safe practitioner. I absolutely love her and refer all of my friends and colleagues to her. She became part of my family and was an amazing support throughout my pregnancy (I had a rough time with morning sickness and very low ferratin. Anyway, I hope you try to get hold of her. Good luck.
