My period is 5 days late. I have had two HCG blood tests, and was told the first I did two days before I was due one looked good, but could I do another to be sure please. The second one I did yesterday and today I was told by the nurse today my numbers where good, everything was where it should be and my levels had increased / doubled. We discussed the next steps etc, and she said yes, you can tell hubby you're pregnant, which I promptly did. Then I get a phone call tonight asking could I do another test Monday as "I wasn't out of the woods yet" and they want to check its still doubling. Should I be worried, or is this common with very early detections? Has anyone else had this experience?

Congratulations! I don't think it is unusual. I have had pregnancies where I've only had two tests done and another {my only successful pregnancy thus far with my son} I had three done. Try not to worry, though it is hard. It's actually nice getting three done because when they are doubling as they should, it's very comforting.
For example, with my first pregnancy I had two tests done but if they had done a third, they would've found out that things weren't progressing. I didn't find out the baby had died at 5 weeks until I was 12 weeks. With my son I had three done and they eased my mind so much.

Thank you Blondiesboy. Congrats on your baby boy! It IS hard not to worry, I went from being over the moon, back to anxiety, this is my first time and I have so many questions! Thank you for taking the time to answer. I am a total newbie and have no idea what the normal process of tests etc are (I'm sure I'll be learning fast) Fingers crossed and a deep breath as I pray for patience till next week.
