Hi, does anyone have experience of being on prednisolone for high NK cells? I have just moved to NZ from UK. Now 5 weeks pregnant. I bought over prednisolone prescribed by the world expert in recurrent miscarriage. My NZ GP told me yesterday that they don't recognise high NK cells over here and refuses to re-prescribe. Any advice gratefully received. I don't know where to turn to for support.

I'm SURE someone will be able to help more than your GP. Where are you? I suspect a fertility specialist rather than a regular GP might be the way to go, someone may be able to recommend one in your area.

Thanks for the response, I am new to Auckland (and New Zealand) and I decided to contact pregnancy support in Auckland. They have suggested I need to change Doctors and recommended someone they work with in the city. I have an appointment tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a more sympathetic and understanding person!

Sounds like a plan. Your Dr sounded like a right eejit. I think it's pretty common for a GP to not know a lot about fertility (my husbands ex-GP told him firmly and grumpily that high temperatures don't affect sperm, which even we knew was a load of bollocks). Hopefully the new one, if they work with pregnancy support, will be a lot more informed.

Cheers Hopes! It's frightening actually the way they dismiss things purely out of their own ignorance. The GP here was actually suggesting I go against the advice of 3 hospital consultants in infertlity and my old GP and follow her advice to stop all prescribed medication! As if it prescribed to me for no good reason! Mad.
