Hi Ladies

I'm 37yo, 6 weeks along, due approx 22 July 2013. I will be 38yo when my baby is born.

There doesn't seem to be many 'older mums' on these forums, so would love to chat with some!

I'm 36 and will be having my first in about 7 weeks (or so!) (eek!)

Always keen for a chat though!

Do you know what you're having?

Hi,
Firstly, congrats on your pregnancy. Truly a special and wonderful event in your life! It will be well worth all those aches and pains, when bubs arrives!!!

I am 41 years old and 20 weeks pregnant.

Hi,

I am 39 and 22 weeks pregnant with my first. So excited! NT scans at 12 weeks showed low risk, which was my main worry, and so far, apart from exhaustion and cronic back ache this has been a lovely easy pregnancy!

Hope you are all doing ok.

Hi, I'm 36 and due next July with my first. Still trying to grapple with the big life change next year and also deal with morning sickness but each day I am learning something new about my body. Hope you're all doing fine

Nice to see there are "older mums" out there. I too had the NT scan which came back as low risk. I just thank my lucky stars!!! Life sure does through us curve balls ie morning sickness, weight gain, mood swings, back ache, swollen bits here and there, etc, but it is worth it in the long run!

Totally agree. Wish March would just hurry up already!

Oh escadachic you must have just found out this week? Exciting!

I'm on a private facebook group, but 95% of them are under 30, so must think I'm a real oldie!

Some paths you take it life mean you don't end up having babies until late 30s like me! If only I'd got rid of dead wood along the way a little earlier ;-)

How are all the mums doing today? I'm looking forward to getting over the first trimester - and the feeling of nausea! It's been coming and going, I'm probably pretty lucky so far. 5 more weeks until the end of my first trimester!

Just lots of nausea, fair bit of throwing up and tiredness.

Me too on the nausea, and dry retching with a touch of throwing up. It is just grotty all day. The only thing that seems to make it go away is to eat constantly which is the last thing I want to do. And I really hate the odd metallic taste in my mouth that is there all the time. Roll on Trimester 2

Just thought I'd drop in to day hi. Such exciting and scary times for those of you still in the first trimester!

Chchjem, I was like that in my first trimester. I actually found eating all the time helped keep the nausea at bay. I was worried I would put on heaps on weight but actually didn't. I think your body needs the energy to create that new life! I found yoghurt and heaps of fruit helped!

My PG is progressing really fast! I have four weeks til my next MW appointment and then fortnightly from then on. Also start ante natal classes in January too. I suppose I should get on to sorting out baby stuff!

Hi

I'm 37 and expecting my first, I'm 5weeks and still don't quite believe this is real.

Really nervous of not going full term and bringing baby into the world, trying to enjoy my secret at the mo, and bursting to tell my friends and family.

One of my BF's is expecting her second and due the day after, her first daughter left us at 37 weeks, think I'm as nervous for her as I am for me.

first scan in a couple of weeks, all fingers and toes crossed we both get there

Good luck with your first scan coming up Jo101795. I had my first scan at what I thought was 6 weeks and 1 day, but ended up I wasn't as far along as I thought, only saw the Fetal sac and Egg sac. I was paranoid that all had gone wrong, until my scan 10 days later, we saw the heartbeat! So exciting! Ended up I had only been 5 weeks and a bit at the first scan. What a relief!

So great that your BF is due right when you are.
Try not to get paranoid, as much as it is hard, especially after what your friend went through.

Jo, that is really sad for your friend, but also exciting that the two of you can go through this journey together. I can only imagine how happy and scared she must be.

The first trimester is so hard but before you know it, it's over and you can start to relax and enjoy being pg. I found it so hard to keep the secret, those 12 weeks dragged by cos all I wanted to do was share. I only told one close friend from very early on and it was great to have her to confide in. I told my niece when I was at 9 weeks and went away with my inlaws at 11 weeks and told them and my parents then. Only then did I start to believe I was actually pg.

Mine is an IVF baby, and after a totally crap year it was unimaginable that finally something good had happened. I sincerely hope the remaining weeks fly by for you and your BF and then you can relax and share in your pg's together!

Hello, I'm 35 and 18 weeks pregnant with twins.. They are our first (and second).

I'm in a Facebook group but am one of a few ladies over 30, and the only over 30 that is a first time mum.

It's a Funny age to be a first time mum, as all my friends have been there done that and I don't have family so it can be a bit of a lonely journey.

It's quite a normal age to have your first I thought. Well around where I live anyway it is.

Congrats by the way and exciting!

Oh by the way, if you haven't found it already, there is a forum for people pregnant with multiples around here somewhere too.
