Hi all, thank you for your time.

I'm looking for a midwife for my first baby and I have very little time on my hands to call them all (if only they all had detailed websites )

I am after someone ridiculously nice as I'm quite shy and DH is too, I could not handle a bolshy midwife
Preferably in Addington so I can fit appointments around work
Also a natural birth advocate - I only want interventions if they're needed
Lots of experience so they can make the call to transfer if needed.

Thank you all again :)

Hi

I've heard Christine Thompson is good - and supports hypnobirthing if this is something you're interested in. My midwife is great, very experienced and knowledgeable but I'm also wanting to have least interventions possible (have made this well known!) and she may not be as gentle a personality as what your're looking for :)

My midwife is Estelle McCarthy, she's with Halswell Village Midwives so not too far from Addington. She's very down to earth and just lovely. Before I booked her in for bebe number 1, I met with her and she told me to let her know in a couple of weeks if I wanted her to be my midwife - no expectation that just because I'd met her I would go with her.

It's definitely worth meeting or speaking to at least two or three midwives before deciding because it's a long relationship you have with them and it's someone you really need to be comfortable with!
