Hi,

I've never joined a forum before but I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first baby and wondering if my experience is normal! I have suffered extreme fatigue for the last 2 weeks, so much that I have had to take days off work to sleep and it's now Sunday and for the second weekend in a row have hardly got out of bed all weekend(I'm struggling even to type now lol). I'm lucky my partner has been around to do housework and feed me lol. I doubt I'll be able to make it to work much this week (which I can't afford to do!) My iron tests came back normal so it's not that. I guess I would like to feel like other perhaps extreme the same level???

I also have really bad nausea. I use seasickness pressure point wrist bands, take ginger pills religiously, eat plain crackers within a minute of waking in the morn, and try to eat a lot of small meals and still feel unwell from morning to evening (sometimes better at night). I've had my first scan and all looks healthy...

Has anyone else been this sick so early on?!?!

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish! I was the same in my first trimester, and its horrible. Might be worth going to see your GP, or midwife if you have one already, and lettin them know you're feeling that bad. Often they can give you some anti-nausea tablets, I tell you, they're a godsend!
Remember its the surge of hormones that makes you sick and you're busy making a little human in there, no wonder you're tired. Once the placenta takes over at about 13 weeks, the nausea does ease and you do get a bit more energy, but generally it is just a waiting game.

I know it seems forever away, but it does get better. As i said, I was the same in my first trimester, and just wanted it over as soon as possible. Now I'm near the end and I don't want it to be 7 weeks to go!

But definitely talk to your GP/Miwdife and see if they can help :)

are you vomiting or just feeling ill?

I felt constantly nauseous for the first 12 weeks both times. But if you're not vomiting, count yourself lucky.

yes, other people have been this sick this early ;-)

This pregnancy, I knew I was pregnant before I could do a test because I could barely face even my first cup of coffee for the day. So it can happen very quickly and like Rexy said, it's all hormones and will settle down (Hopefully).

Tnanks so much for your replies :) My friends all seemed to have relativeli sick free pregnancies so was wondering what was wrong with me! Good to know I'm not alone in this regard.

I went to the doctor and she assured me all was totally normal and gave me some strong ginger and b6 tablets as well as a script for medication (very safe for preg apparantly) in case things get alot worse. And no I'm not throwing up but almost feel would be better as might give me some relief!
