If you got an invite to a baby shower and it said "no pressies thanks" on it. Would you still take one?

No, unless I had already chosen something or I really wanted to give them a specific gift that I thought would be perfect. I think when people say this, they genuinely don't want gifts, and it is probably good to respect that. Sometimes it might be because they already have too much and they don't want to try and store any more, or it might be because they have specific tastes about what kind of clothes, fabrics, nappies, or products they want to use, or it could be some other reason. I would go with their request. If you felt really bad about turning up emptyhanded, maybe you could do a gift voucher or just a nice card.

Agree with the above - also if you really wanted to get something you could always wait till the baby is born and see if there is anything they need because I know people have asked for no gifts because they just get so over whelmed with stuff that don't necessarily want or need.

For me it depends on how close you are to the person. If it says no pressies and you already have one. Then I would give them that gift at a later date when you see them by yourself.

Maybe you could take them a frozen meal for after bubs is born if you really want to take something. It's s thoughtful gift and will be useful :-). Other than that, a card might be nice.

A friend of my mums did that for me when DS was born, gave us a bunch of frozen meals. Was fantastic :)

I would wait till baby was born then and take them either a pressie or a meal.

I hadn't really thought about it for my baby shower and was swamped with pressies and a bit embarrassed by it all tbh. I wish i had said no pressies!
