Hi all,
I have to go for a Fasting Glucose test tomorrow as am under an OB now as well as my MW. So far I've been clear of sugar in my urine tests at the MW's and at the OB. How does that corolate to the Gestational Diabetes test? ie if your urine is free of sugar, are you normally ok or can it go either way? Also, anything major I should stay away from today? Just eat what you would normally eat 
The test is to test how your body breaks things down - so by fasting for 12 hours it gives your body a chance to break down sugars and expel them. The test will pick up if your body is/isn't coping. The GD test is a standard test during pregnancy, so it's nothing that you're "made" to do based on your pee-on-a-stick test results at each MW/OB visit. It's a precautionary test, more than anything

i have gd and dont have glucose in my urine,which is a good thing and shows the ob i am managing my sugar levels well.
