Hi everyone

I am due on the 14th of August and at my 20 week scan was found to have vasa previa. My midwife talked me through this but "silly me" then googled it..... scary!!!
Has anyone experienced this and what was the timeline eg bedrest, hospitalized and delivery.

Thanks all!!!!

Hi
I don't know anything about this - but Google is Not Your Friend

From what little I've read, a lot of cases aren't picked up before delivery, so you're already ahead of the game. Your MW will do everything possible to make sure you get the best outcome
Perhaps call her and ask her to explain again. It's important for you know know all you need to know, so she'll be more than happy to go through it again.

I can't answer your questions though, just wanted to wish you all the best

Havent experienced it myself, i also just googled it and it said elective c/s was the safest form of delivery. Of course your OB/mw will inform you of this thou not me im not a doctor, just another mum.

I have had an elective c/s (and a vb and a planned c/s but was in labour) and there is a great support thread for mums under the c/s pro c/s thread.

Good luck hun, i would go c gp if you dont get a referral soon from your ob.

I haven't experienced it either, but my pregnancy carried similar risk of bleeding and we needed to have a pre-term c-section to avoid that. Just wanted to say that the high-risk team at Auckland (though not sure where you are) were fantastic. Whatever happens, I'm sure you and your wee one will get great care.
