Well most commonly people advise: sex and curries!! And walks along the beach :)

Raspberry Leaf Tea can help get your body ready for labour, but I personally check with my LMC before trying anything.

Acupuncture??

Best of luck!! :D

I wouldn't recommend curries - just makes it bad at the other end during labour lol.

Apparently steps and walking down steps sideways as it opens up your pelvis to allow baby to drop more. So if you have some huge big steps to walk up and down try that!

You and me both I LOVE curries (particularly ones I don't cook) and consider getting to my due date a great excuse for a lovely hot one. In saying that, it didn't work last time, and no sign it's working this time!

Another thing they say to try is pineapple (you have to eat a lot of it, but if you like it that's not too much of a hardship).

Honestly, nothing worked last time (Jacob came nearly two weeks over) and I think they come in their own time. But since some of the 'remedies' are rather fun, why not give them a go (just don't exaust yourself walking too much in case you go into labour without enough puff left to push!!)

Best of luck!! I went 17 days over, was booked to be induced and went into labour the morning I was supposed to go in! The only thing I did differently is change my routine, had been sleeping in, lazing about, and that morning I was up at 6am to get induced, had a hot shower before I ate and this seemed to kick start things... I tried everything else!! Hope your baby decides to come soon :)

I am in the same situaltion. Hospital want to induce at 37 weeks from Feb 3rd. I don't want it done with the drugs though because I reacted too well last time. So I am looking at natural ways.

1. stretch and sweep. They can do several and deopending on what your cervix is doing, it might trigger labour.

2. Breaking waters. This I am hoping to avaoid because once done if labour doesn't start it can lead to a CS.

3. Curries. The spices and cause your bowel to contract which will trigger labour.

4. Ficking nipples. This takes at least 30 minutes every night. More of a rubbing motion. It is supposed to cause your body to release the hormone oxytocin to ripen your cervix and start labour.

5. Sex. The males sperm produces hormones to ripen the cervix and the female body during an orgasm does as well. I did read that the sperm works better when absorbed through the gut lol. But not sure I want to try that. A uterous also contracts during an orgasm that can start labour.

6. Pulsatilla. This is a natural homeopathic substance.

7. Castor oil. 60 mls drunk. It can be mixed with orange juice. Have heard it is discusting. It causes the bowel to contract which is supposed to trigger labour. At the least it will clear you out.

8. Accupunture. Some ladies recon this helps. There are certain pressure points as well. One is the flesh between the thumb and forfinger. Massage for one minute then rest for 2 minutes. Keep repeating. Also 4 fingers above the heal is a pressure point you can also massage.

9. Pineapple. This has to be fresh not tinned or heated in any way. The enzyme that it contains is lost through tinning and cooking. Also they only contain a small amount so you need to eat something like 8 pineapples!!!! With GD I ruled this one out lol.

There are some plants that I also found listed but I also read that they can be dangerous so they are not really recomended.

Most of these ideas they recon will only work if you are close to going into labour and your cervix is ripening.

please don't try castor oil- it is really not good for you or baby. It creates a toxic environment for the baby and can often cause them distress.... apart from the fact that the horrendous diarrhoea is not enjoyable either!

I tried everything with 2 of my kids and honestly- babies come when they are ready. Your best bet would be a stretch and sweep if you are really wanting to try something.

If they are low, it is supposed to put pressure on the cervix to help ripen it I think.
