I KNOW the chances are crazy low (0.21%!), but I still find myself worrying.
I had a mirena IUD fitted on the 16th of June. No problems other than the cramping lasted nearly a week, but I waited a week to have sex, can feel the strings and I've had my six week check up where I was assured it was in place and looking good. I'm still getting periods more or less on time, although the bleeding is lighter each time as one would hope with a mirena!
So now my needless worry.
I was perfectly able to ignore all this as most of it can be put down to common side effects of the mirena, until I had a dream where I did a test, expecting a negative, and of course it wasn't. Cue panic. :P
I've been experiencing mood swings, very mild crampy feelings (not restricted to one side, no ectopic worries), darker nipples, (TMI) increased moisture and as of the past few days (more TMI) I've been going to the loo FAR more often, and I don't mean for number 1's. This is all echoing everything I had in the early stages with Caleb and it's making me nervous. All that's missing is the eczema flaring up and the lack of pimples. Although now that I mention it, I have been noticing less pimples.
My last period was very light, barely more than spotting at times and 3 days long starting on the 8th with two days of light spotting either side. The IUD is still in place, strings where they should be and nothing where it shouldn't.
The sex factor - I can tell you exactly which days I've had sex in the last month. 1 - 4 of this month inclusive. Which, judging by the dates of the period before that, was right about when I would have ovulated IF I did at all.
So ladies, tell me I'm worried over nothing! Pretty please!

I would definatly get a pregnancy test, just in case because you never know. I had a friend get pregnant with one in, I also have another friend who got pregnant two days after it was removed, so anything is possible! Just for peace of mind you should get a test.

It's highly unlikely (0.21% apparently ) but if it's driving you crazy, just take a test to put your mind at east. You'll probably get the negative and then you'll know all those things you've been noticing are normal afterall (or could be the effects of the hormones in the mirena and therefore, still normal).
That said, I've done a test just to stop the crazy imagining of pregnancy symptoms... and, errr... I'm due in 7 weeks (I wasn't using contraception though, just didn't really to get UTD so quick).

Heh, the 0.21% was taken from the booklet I was given when I had it inserted.
I'm going to go out tonight, since I haven't been to the loo since before 3pm I'll be really classy and do one while I'm out.
I'd say wish me luck, but I don't need it. Of course I'm not pregnant, I'm just paranoid!
I'll come back tomorrow morning and happily post that it was negative.

Negative, of course!
Now I just have to work out why I feel so darn pregnant! Must all be side effects of the mirena. Yay. That's gonna drive me nuts for the next few years.
