what's the deal with using thrush treatments in pregnancy?
I went to get one from the chemist who scared the cr@p outta me and said I needed to call my MW first. I did, who said treatment was fine, all good to use the applicator etc, then I read the booklet and all over it is written don't use in first 3 months of pregnancy, don't use the applicator if pregnant. what???
Anyway I used it and got abdominal cramps after using it, then a teeny bit of blood after the second night. needless to say, flagged using the rest of it!
just wondered what other people have been told about treating thrush in pregnancy? of course I trust my MW, but it was confusing with the pharmacist and the info in the packet saying different things
with the last pregnancy (2008) I had thrush heaps but was ok with using the treatments. have things changed since then? what have you been told?

With my second pregnancy I cant even tell you how many times I had thrush but I used the applicator everytime and yes the packet said not to but mw said it was fine just dont insert it all the way up. I got abit of blood to but I think it was more the applicator catching on skin or someting. So just go for it, nothing I did throughout my pregnancy helped with the thrush...... Good luck and hopefully its a oncer!!!

I thought I might have had a kidney infection recently and while waiting for the results the MW gave me a form for antibiotics and thrush treatment incase I needed them. The cream itself is fine and you don't insert the applicator all the way.

I used it. Used the applicator the first day, had a teeny amount of blood the next day, so tried to do it by finger - TMI sorry! - the next night and that didn't work, so applicator'd it. I just didn't push it all the way up.

In my last pregnancy I had thrush. My specialist said it was fine to use the cream but not to use the applicator. He said to use my finger (sorry TMI).
