Hi everyone
Just had our 12 week scan, and soooo happy and excited to see bubs is doing well in there yay!
Only thing I'm a bit miffed about is sonographer says I have an anterior placenta again. I always felt a bit ripped off with DD lol, I barely felt any movement til about 25 weeks, and even then only felt it to the sides and right at the top. Was hoping to feel all the wriggles this time. Anyone had an anterior placenta in subsequent pregnancies and been able to feel movement sooner?

Awww bummer TP. This time it could be a bit higher or lower or to the side more so you might feel more movement in different places. Plus they can move as you grow (granted not all the way to the back).

I have one this time - didn't last time. I noticed it took longer to feel strong kicks than it did with DD, but now I can feel plenty of wriggles and squirms. Not sure if its as many as if I had a posterior placenta but its heaps. It doesn't seem any less than with DD.
And last time I had marginal placenta previa, so I'm taking an anterior placenta very happily

T rex I think our bubs will have about the same age gap. How are you handling your DD now you're getting big? I'm already knackered lol!!

First pregnancy was an posterior placenta then #2 anterior and this one (#3) anterior. It really depends on the position of the placenta- did the sonographer give you a good description? For example this one is top right so I have good feeling under my belly button and on the left side.
Subsequent pregnancies you are usually more switched on to what to feel for when waiting for movements so hopefully you will feel them sooner.... or I could send you some of my painful pelvic & rib kicks if you like? LOL

TP, the nights my DD lets me get some sleep, it's fine, but the days I'm run ragged from being up 10 times a night and working 4 days a week, it gets a bit rough. The hardest part is the endless getting up and down off the floor, and her wanting to be picked up all the time.
I'm lucky in that I can still wear her in the manduca quite comfortably so do that when she's being a real grizzle pants, but I've also worked hard to encourage her to walk and to come to me for cuddles when she hurts herself rather than me going to her etc and that is helping a lot.
I've also been encouraging reading stories together and activities that let me blob for a bit. I figure these will also be useful for when I'm tied down BF a new baby.
She's much much more of a kid than a baby now than she was when I got pregnant, so it's much less daunting than it was to begin with!

Just had my scan today and same thing- anterior placenta. Poor DH! He wasn't able to feel any movements til I was 40 weeks pregnant because the placenta covered everything in the front!
I felt movements from 16 weeks though, towards the inside. Hopefully will this time as well, plus usually 2nd time mums feel them earlier as well so hopefully you will feel them earlier

Hi TP, my placenta is anterior again too. I didn't feel DS till much later in my pregnancy, prob sometime between 20-22'ish weeks. This time I felt flutters from early on, not long after 12 weeks and am now feeling what I think is bubby rolling over etc. Am even sure I felt a little kick this week, not strong but diff to what I have been feeling. I think I'm feeling it as I know what it feels like etc. Hopefully you'll feel bubs soon

I feel a bit stupid moaning about it really!!! It's hard for DH too, because my placenta was right at the front last time he couldn't feel jojo moving for himself til 33 weeks!!

I had an anterior placenta with #2 and it made no difference whatsoever to feeling her movements. I felt her move for the first time at exactly 12 weeks and by 17 weeks her movements were really strong and i think i was 19 weeks when my partner could feel her moving.
I had a posterior placenta with #1 and i didn't notice any difference between the pregnancies. They were both very active and violent babies and caused me a lot of pain. lol.

Mine is anterior this time as well (it was with DD too), but higher up this time (last time it was low and had a scan later on to check it wasnt covering the cervix). Last time I didnt feel anything till 22ish weeks, and hten it was one kick a day, this time I felt bubs from about 16/17 weeks (felt it roll over), and the odd kick/punch every couple of days, but by 21 weeks I can feel it punch from the outside. I still cant feel anything higher up where the placenta is tho.
I hope you (and your DH) get to feel movements a bit earlier this time!
