This slice is so cheap to make and it's absolutely delicious. Make it for DH and his workmates and they love it.
125g butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp maple flavoured syrup
2 and 1/4 cups of rolled oats
1/4 cup dessicated coconut
Dried apricots, diced, about 1 cup
Chocolate chunks/buttons 1 cup (or more if you like haha)
Melt the butter, sugar and maple syrup in a saucepan then leave to boil softly for 3 minutes.
Mix the rolled oats, dried apricots and coconut in a bowl. Add the butter, sugar and syrup mix and stir.
Leave for 5 mins to cool. Then add the chocolate and mix in.
Pour into slice tin, and pat down flat with the back of a spoon. Bake at 180 degrees (best on normal bake not fan) for 25 mins. Leave to cool, then cut and enjoy!! :)
Absolutely loving this slice. It is on an ad for low GI sugar so you can use the chelsea low GI sugar with it but I have done it with regular sugar too
