My DH left Monday morning for 5 days work away from home. I'd asked him to leave the kitchen clean as I can't bear being in there. Unfortunately he didn't really do that, but, bless him, he did do loads for me whilst he was here so can't be mad.

Anyway, the couple of times I went into the kitchen yesterday I kept wondering when I'd be able to stomach cleaning it.

I went to a friends at about 4pm and got home at about 8pm. Went into the kitchen and was startled by it's relative cleanliness. Being unsettled, I wandered the house just checking the rooms (like a loon) for possible intruders!

I eventually sat down in the lounge to forget about it. Later, I thought maybe I could manage some soup so went back to the kitchen and, once again, was startled. Looking at the draining board, I remembered earlier putting a plate there and removing a dry one. But now, there was a pyrex dish over the top as well as the saucepan I remembered rinsing but not washing all clean and draining.

I freaked out. Who did this?? I rang DH and he blamed baby brain, but I rejected it. I would remember doing all that, especially when feeling so rubbish...but there it is, all clean.

If this is memory loss...has anyone else experienced anything similar in pregnancy? I'm quite unsettled by it all, be it friendly poltergeist or memory fluffiness!!

Wow that is very strange. Unfortunately I have no explanation. But if you don't want a kitchen tidying ghost feel free to send it my way lol

lol! Yeah, it doesn't sound that bad does it? I did find myself this morning saying, (to the air) 'er, thank you, but you're kind of freaking me out!' ... just in case

Baby brain! Seriously, yesterday i got a facecloth, wiped DSs face and put it on the coffee table for some unknown reason. Then, three hours later i found said wet facecloth and freaked out because i hadnt used a face cloth, and if i did i'd use it in the bathroom not in the lounge and i wouldnt put a wet cloth on a wooden table anyway! I was seriously beginning to wonder if someone had broken in and done it to trick me. Took me about 3 hours to remember wiping DSs face...so i reckon its totally possible you're cleaning and not remembering it

The mystery was solved! Whilst I was at my friends house (they're a couple) he snuck over the road to my house to tidy the kitchen because he didn't want me unable to eat! How sweet! And I'm not crazy!

Yeah, he laughed and we have all laughed about it since!! He's a really good guy and they're a fab couple. Wish we didn't have to move away from them, they'd be great to have around throughout preg and beyond!

Hahaha about repeating! I was forever repeating myself and unfortunately it's continued since the birth 17 months ago! DP just goes 'You said that x minutes ago!'
