Hey everyone,
First timer to OB and being pregnant.
Was after any personal recommendations for a good midwife suited for a new young mum in the west auckland kumeu area. When do you need to get one by?
And any advice that you think would be handy.
Thanks mums

Hi. I can't recommend any good midwives in Auckland but there are numerous threads with recommendations if you do a search for midwives. I would get a midwife asap as they book up very quickly everywhere. Hope you have a good pregnancy.

I would highly recommend Anglea Scott at Baby on the Way midwifes off Lincoln Road. Her and the rest of the team are great.

There is the Helensville Birthing Centre you could contact one of their midwives. http://www.birthcentre.co.nz/ - Helensville Birthing Centre

Thanks, meeting with a couple next week, one from both helensville and lincoln. I am wondering if it is better to go them alone for the first meet or get the hubby to take a day off to come along? I don't want him to waste the day off if i have a scan coming up soon too and the meet isn't very exciting. Did you guys take yours with you?

I only took hubby along once I'd decided who I wanted to go with.

I took hubby with me when we went to choose the midwife. He knows me best and I trust his judgement, togehter we picked which one was best for me. It depends on you though, I needed someone who is very supportive and who would understand some medical issues I already had.
Hope you find the right one for you
