Making sure I had crackers by my bed and having a couple before getting up. Taking it easy once I did get up. Making sure I ate breakfast (even just a light one like toast or fruit) but always something plain and eating before I had a drink) that seemed to hold off vomiting anyway. And taking it slow held off the nausea!

Having lots of small snacks during the day and not getting too hungry. I would usually have some watered down juice before getting out of bed.

Having a sandwhich just before going to bed. Otherwise by the time I woke the next day I was already too sick to keep any food down.

Brewing fresh ginger really helped me. Finely chop a thumb size amount of ginger into about a 1 1/2 water and let it simmer. Even just the smell should ease the nausea....hopefully!

A gingernut with hot water at breakfast time and I don't know why but I really enjoyed hot custard (made from the powdered mix). It was one of the few things I could hold down.

Other than that - small meals eaten frequently...

I just founda gingernut when I first got up (and was getting ready for work) then I'd eat breakfast at work (about half an hour later) REALLY helped me

I had hideous MS right up until 18-19 weeks, and the one thing that really curbed nausea when I felt it coming on was jelly beans - not your traditional remedy by any means - but I swear by it.

I also had some success with the Blackmores morning sickness remedy and slept with Sea Bands on some nights....

I had jelly beans by the bed - definitely eat something before your feet hit the floor in the morning :) I would then have an Up and Go for my breakfast before I contemplated getting in the car.

Good luck! This is my first and I really didn't know what I was in for - but it did come right eventually....I still use the jelly beans now and then - though that could now be a pregnancy sweet tooth I have... :)

The nausea is just starting to hit me now so I might give a few of these a try and hope to keep the worst at bay. Thanks for all the ideas!

The above suggestions are all good (though I couldn't handle ginger) and other than that I just made sure to eat very plain foods as anything overly flavoured would not sit well and if it did come back up was not very nice.. and I only ate what I felt like, mashed potato really worked well for me!

Good luck, I am glad to be over that part of the pregnancy

Not rushing ... this is still a BIG one for me, even at 28weeks! If I rush or get flustered that's it for the rest of the day. I found sweet things a no go too but I think that was just me

Ginger Tablets (I avoided the real thing or tea, tablets worked better for me) and eating small amounts and frequently worked ok for me.

Things that helped me were, chocolate milk(primo) as it puts a lining on your tummy, its hard to get the first sips down but it did help me, peanut butter on crackers, anything with protein can help stop the vomiting.
Morningmed spray(by naturopharm) umm gingernuts were the only ginger thing I could handle!I tried the crystallized stuff and it made me feel worse, now I cant stand the smell lol!

for me it was protein - ie cheese and crackers before bed and a nutbar next to the water for if i woke up seedy

also any form of fried potato was a godsend ... especially hashbrowns!

My mum told me the other day that when she was preg with me all she could handle was coke and apples.
I fould having a snack (ie cheese sandwhich) before bed helped with me.

Oh yeah the protien thing works for me. Peanut butter on english muffin splits was good ... I found the toast to dry
