Wondering for those who live in/near putaruru where you birthed and if you used a local midwife (and if you can recommend one)?
A bit premature but DH and I are interviewing for a job down that way thursday and if we take it, we need to consider that sort of thing.
My previous midwife (who I love and would prefer to have again if possible) is in Te Awamutu - would it be unreasonable to travel to TA to have her again?
Im guessing the only issues would be her travelling for home visits at the end and just after bubs was born.
Also would likely birth in Waikato Hospital due to complications first time round but what options are down there?
Thanks
ETA im not actually pg atm but we are ttc #2, so will hopefully be when we move down

I'm in Tokoroa. I had a Cambridge based midwife because I wanted to have the baby in Hamilton, at a birthing centre there so got someone who was close. I drove to her for my prenatal visits and she was there for the birth.
My postnatal visits were done by a midwife from Tokoroa Hospital - Christine McMillan, who was awesome and I totally recommend her! My Cambridge midwife just contacted Tokoroa Hospital midwives and they agreed to the postnatal visits and I just made a phonecall once DS was born to introduce myself and arrange the first visit.
Your midwife may be happy to do the postnatal visits from Te Awamutu though, it would be worth discussing with her directly.

Thats sort of what im hoping. Shes so awesome though, id be happy to travel to her for postnatal visits if needs be
Have to see if we get the job in the first instance, then have to get UTD, so if they both happen I think ill give her a call anyway and hope for the best
