I decided to do a huge spring clean the other day as we have family coming for xmas and for Jake's birthday...that and it's becomming difficult to see out the windows...then I went to pak n save to get supplies, and woah, cleaning products were too expensive so I went home again sans products. after mentioning it to Lewis' uncle he said that we should avoid using products with bleach in them as it kills the enzymes in our (still not fixed) septic tank. So I went on the internet to find out how to make our own. Anyway, to make a long story...well...longer, I found some great "recipes" for all-purpose cleaner and glass cleaner, just cleaned my windows and they are beautiful, mold free and sparkling, so thought I'd post the recipes for those cheapsters, or people concerned about the enviroment. window and glass cleaner 1/2 teaspoon liquid detergent 3 tablespoons white vinegar 2 cups hot water Mix in spray bottle and use as you would commercial cleaner all purpose cleaner 1/2 teaspoon baking soda a dab of liquid soap 2 cups hot water as above I can recommend wholeheartedly |

baking soda is good for smells too - you can sprinkle on your carpets before vacuuming, or use it to clean out the fridge, put it in your washing, apparently if you burn a pot you can sprinkle some in with a bit of water, if you make a paste with it you can use it to do spot cleaning of other stuff too.... ------------- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker">

We found this was fantastic for oven cleaning. Make a thick paste and use for the inside of your oven. i had'nt cleaned mine for three years and this worked a treat. No chemical smell and not a lot of scrubbing either.
6 table spoons of baking soda 3 tablespoons of white vinegar a few squirts og diswahing liquid Straight white Vinegar sprayed on mould and left for as long as you can handle the smell and then wiped off with a cloth works really well too. ------------- Abigail 06/01/2005 Jayden 21/11/2001 Micheal 03/04/1997 |

What a great idea liz I have been wanting ot do this for age's now I have no excuse off ot buy some spray bottle's tomorrow does it keep or do you need to make up a new lot everytime. Vick I am so off to try the oven cleaner thanks. ------------- Deborah Mum to:

At the moment I have this horrid oven spray...stinks like hell and you are not allowed to breath it in...hello its a bl@#$! spray???!!!
