DD has finally weaned! In the end it was easy she simply gave up on her own! Its been 5 days. So thankfully she won't be BF forever.

However....turns out am PG (early days yet), which is soooo exciting! Does this often happen with no.1 when no.2 comes along? Seems too much of a coincidence.

DD self weaned when I hit 12 weeks pregnant, almost to the day, and just like your DD she just stopped on her own.

I think it is reasonably common for toddlers to self wean during pregnancy, especially if they're ready to do it anyway, the hormonal changes may make the milk taste different and they just can't be bothered any more IYKWIM.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Yes it does, but not all the time. Your hormones will have changed due to #2 and that would have changed the milk taste a little - enough to make certain #1's quit.
