I'm sure this has been discussed many times but I'm feeling too lazy to search
My 23 month old is going through a serious hitting phase except she only hits me. She knows this is unacceptable behaviour and says to me "don't you hit mummy" then puts herself in time out. Unfortunately it is a game to her and is starting to drive me up the wall.
Does anyone have any tried and true methods to help with this?
TIA

Jane, Campbell is doing the same thing! I'm continuing to put him into the "naughty room" when he hits, he knows what he's doing is naughty (he often waggles his finger just like I do when I'm telling him off!). I'm hoping that its a phase, and that if I'm consistent, he'll grow out of it. Fingers crossed!

It is a phase, honestly. We had it for about 2 months (2 very long months where I dreaded going to coffee group) and then it passed.
