Hi there
I'm searching for an LMC and am a bit confused about what to do. My GP has recommended that I go with an obstetrician, since I've had two miscarriages and a few other complications (PCOS and prior LLETZ). But I'm not convinced.
I feel like OB care is too medicalised (higher rate of C-section etc), but midwife care isn't medical enough (I'm an info junkie and over-researcher and need someone really knowledgable to reassure me!).
My ideal would be to have both! I've heard of 'shared care' where you alternate appointments with an OB and midwife, and this would be my perfect combo of nurturing & scientific, but exhaustive internet searching doesn't seem to tell me anything about how to get this or who does it in Auckland.
Has anyone had shared care or know how to get it?
Thanks x

Maybe you could ring a couple of midwives and talk to them?. I highly recommend my one, I see you are Waitakere, as am I. Here is a bit of info about her. She has very low C-Section stats. Only 3 last year and I think a couple were elective. And she has a good relationship with Obs at Waitakere if you need one for any reason.
