Hi guys, I'm trying to be really good and have decided to cut coffee out completely. I used to only have one or two cups a day so I don't think it's going to be too tricky....!
Anyway, my work stocks a big supply of herbal teas in the lunch room but I'm not sure which ones I can have. There are things like ginger, chamomile, strawberry, raspberry etc etc. Can anyone help? Thx

Hey LR, i personally don't drink herbal teas, but found this on the healtheries website. hope that helps!

Healtheries Teas that are safe to drink during pregnancy are:
Healtheries Lemon Tea
Healtheries Cranberry & Apple Tea
Healtheries Echinacea Tea with Lemon & Vitamin C
Healtheries Tangerine & Orange Tea with Vitamin C
(see Healtheries Herbal & Fruit Tea Guide for Mothers to Be)

LR keep away from 'pure' rasberry tea until your last trimester hun as it's used for toning the uterus and you don't really want too much of that happening till you're ready to get the baby out iykwim?!   I'd even be careful in the first tri with rasberry blend teas if you tihnk you might be a sensitive type.

Chamomile and ginger will be lovely, and if you get ms then mint might help(or make it worse like it did for me lol). St Johns Wort is the only other one I can think os to stay away from your entire pg.

Oh, if you can find it- usually at an organics store- nettle tea is excellent for throughout pregnancy

Edited to add- I think coffee is fine in small quantities. I drank a cup a day throughout both pregnancies, it's when you're more like a 6 cup a day kind of gal that you might wanna cut back lol  you might find in a few weeks you'll go right off it anyway!

I craved coffee in the last tri in my pregnancys lol

Yep ginger tea will be great for MS! but stay away from rasberry leaf tea until 36 weeks, I wouldnt drink any kind of rasberry tea until late thrid tri.

When you see your MW, as her and she will be able to tell you the ones you cant have

and, Congrats on your pregnancy!

Yay, congrats on your pregnancy!

Coffee is fine during pregnancy, unless you're sensitive to caffeine or get heart palpitations or anything like that. Just limit it to 2 espresso coffees or 4 instant a day. So don't feel bad if you do have the odd cup!!

But I found the ginger and fruit teas really good for MS, and caffeine free hot drinks are more efficient at hydrating you if you can't keep much down. Hopefully you don't get MS tho!! Green teas on the other hand made me .

Thanks guys, I'm drinking a lemon and ginger tea right now!

I'll still have the odd flat white every now and then, and I'm still having a couple of cups of regular tea as well. I'm not going to go too crazy, especially because my work mates might start to get suspicious!
