oh i so feel your pain...we have just moved mr 17mths to a bed for that reason..he has learnt to climb in and out of his cot.

I actually let Cory climb as long as its not on tables etc...and it probably doesnt help that he spends a fair amount of time at kindy with his sister playing outside...climbing on everything.

I just tell Cory "NO" for the things i dont want him to climb on and he doesnt do it so much now...loves climbing up the back of the couch though and down the other side...lol

haha Nia is the same. Although she hasn't tried to climb out of her cot yet she can't get her little short stubby leg high enough lol.

She climbs up the couches down the sides, over the chairs and everything. On the couch I tell her to sit on her bottom and she normally does. She climbs up the couch and goes into her grandmas shadow box so thats something I have to watch for anyway. She grabs the phone and pens and pencils off the side table. DP apparently had to tell her off because she was on the coffee table trying to push the tv. Yep not so happy about that.

I don't mind the climbing I'm just trying to teach her when and where its appropriate also. IE climb on the couches if you want to sit on them but not when you have food in your hand. Don't climb up the back of them. Don't sit on the arm (she does that all the time). I have a stool by our bed so she can climb up and down off that otherwise I get smacked and she signs up
