Hey guys
so i have to book a dating scan for prob next week, should i do it earlier in the week or later on? MW reckons i'm about 6w+4 going by her estimated 34 day cycle lol but based on my ov date i'm 6w+1 today, so would it be best to leave it to 7 weeks to try and see the heartbeat or should i just get it done early next week and hope to see it then??? ------------- http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">

aww that sucks you have to wait.. i had one 6w1d also and saw heartbeat..

I always think 7-8 weeks is better as they are just that wee bit bigger and you will definately see a hb where as early 6 weeks it could still be too small.... -------------

Congratulations! With both of mine we've seen a heart beat at about 5.5 weeks. But there's no guarantee, so if you think it will stress you out too much to perhaps not see a heartbeat then probably best to wait another few days. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I had an early scan at 6w3days and whilst we did see a heartbeat, I was warned that there was just as much chance that we wouldn't at that point. In a way having the scan a wee bit later is a blessing because it means your chances are that much better of seeing it and obviously a bit more development too  . I had my dating scan about 6 weeks and 3 days and they saw the heartbeat but only by doing an internal scan.
So I think waiting till 7 weeks or so is good, the bigger the baby can bet the better chance you have to see it and saves any unnecessary worry :) ------------- Me 28, DH 29 DS born 20 Nov 2010 (4 years old) #2 due October 7 http://lilypie.com" rel="nofollow">
