During toddlerhood, I mean?
JJ has started being very shy and clingy, mostly when people come to our house. He used to have no issues with new people but now he will come to me and cry hard while people are here. He'll bury himself in my neck or lap until people leave.
When we're out, if anyone tries to talk to him or me put him down he cries to be picked up.
His personality is enormous when it's just us, anything new and he is very sooky la-la!
I am guessing it is just a phase as they become more aware at this age. Have others gone through this?

Campbell is doing the same thing! I'm not sure if its another clingy phase, or related to the teething that he's currently going through (popping 4 eye teeth all at once!). Sometimes even at home, he rushes over and hugs my leg like he was worried I was gone!

Chloe is doing the same - even when people she knows come over. She almost climbs up me in an effort to get away. DH says I should be happy as it means she feels secure with me, but she is 12kg and I'm 22wk pg. Definitely hoping it's a stage.

Ha! Yep - know that feeling! Am hoping it's a quick stage too - will be difficult with #2 comes along.

Clodagh's started her clingy phase early lol. She also is very gregarious but can be very shy in company (at first) and often asks for a BF when we're out and about...which she rarely does at home. But more and more lately I'm getting 'up up up up' from herwhen we are home so I"ve taken to wearing her in the sling more often. This seems to keep her happy when she's feeling very Mummy-orientated I'm hoping the phase will pass by the time bubs# 2 is here!

My toddler is doing that too- big time!
She never really went through this stage before she was one (like they usually do) so it's a bit new for us. She wants me over everyone else (even her Dad!) which is nice and all but gets quite exhausting too.
She also does it when we go somewhere new. I find it takes her about an hour til she's settled and starts playing and being her usual cheeky self again.
To me it def seems like another stage of them realizing that they are a separate person to Mum.
Congrats on baby number 2 by the way

My DS is doing the same thing but is only 13 months old. He's usually fiercely independent but is going through a real clingy stage too!

Thanks guys.
JJ is being so funny at the moment - freaking out about all sorts of little things. He's passionately terrified of koosh balls at the moment! Saw one in his toy box and screamed and sobbed.
Funny kids...
