Hi all, looking for some advice.
I have been preggers twice, both times without actively trying.
The first pregnancy resulted in our daughter, the second pregnancy resulted in a missed miscarriage in April this year, at about 13 weeks.
We decided to wait one cycle and then try again.
Our first month of trying was unsuccessful.
I am currently in the second cycle...I ovulated on time (around day 17-19 of a 30 day cycle) and my AF was due on Sunday just gone. No AF. Tested with HPT's and negative. So went to the doctor yesterday and got a blood test. hCG = 1. So not pregnant. They tested hormones too and they were fine - showed I had ovulated.
But not sure where to go from here. My cycle is normally very regular. Is it possible I am pregnant or do you think definetly not? I'm very confused, and wanting to be pregnant so bad.
I'm also struggling with the idea that since we decided to try to get pregnant, we can't, and am wondering if the m/c has affected my fertility???
Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I take it for the missed mc you had D&C done? Were there any complications? If so that can affect fertility but they should have advised you of risk etc. I was told it can take months for hormones to settle down so maybe mother nature is being cruel and AF is just late. If HCG is 1, then there are hormones still in your system which can affect your cycle. Your GP should do another test to make sure they go to zero...or go up. I hope they go up for you and you get the news you want.

I didn't have a d&c, I had a natural m/c (baby died about 8 weeks, m/c at about 13 weeks). There were no complications. my cycle went straight back to normal after.
Should hCG=0?? I thought 1 was the lowest. Interesting. Will look into that.
If I still don't have AF next week, I will get more tests done. But that's so long to wait!!
How are you now Bobsta? are you ttc at the moment or having a break from it?

They consider anything <5 to be "negative". Even very early pregnancy would have levels above this. So probably not pregnant (sorry).
As far as I understand it a m/c shouldn't have affected your fertility unless there were complications or there's some specific problem that makes you m/c (but since you already have a child that is probably unlikely).
BUT it's completely natural to wonder all those things. It took me 18 months to fall preg with Kiara even although I'd gotten pregnant almost immediately on trying those first times. Just the sucky luck of the draw I think. I know it's not what you want to hear but it's such early days for you to worry about any sort of infertility. When you look into the stats sometimes I wonder how anyone has a successful pregnancy!
Gah, its so frustrating/annoying/horrible. You spend so much of your adult life trying to avoid getting pregnant then when you finally decide you're ready it is not nearly the easy happy process you thought it would be. Anyway, here's hoping next month for you.
