the boys were about 3 when they finally trained and so different than eden... i think i need some help though. I think eden has started holding on to her wees... i see her at the table rocking back and forth and doing the toilet dance and i ask if she wants to go to the toilet and she says no and refuses to go... and then we get a puddle. did you girls hold on?
i put her in undies all day yesterday and asked if she wanted the toilet but she just wet herself. she does get upset and a few times was trying to take off her pants... and the other day my husband saw her take off her pants and wee on the floor... do i have to get firm? or is she not ready? ------------- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/weight-loss-ticker">

It's a bit hard as it's winter but when Ashleigh first started, I left her with nothing on the bottom half (while at home of course) for about a week and a potty handy so she didn't need to worry about getting pants off. If she was wearing pants then she would wet everytime. Oh and she always said no if I asked her so I would take her every 45 mins to the toilet and slowly stretched out the time. I attempted TT'ing Eimear about a month ago when she whipped off her nappy and demanded undies.
Her sequence was : Toilet dance, Refuse potty/toilet when asked and would say "wee wees all done! wee wees all done!" which was then followed by a puddle. I tried for about a week but unfortunately for us the timing was not good due to us changing daycare arrangements at the same time. Personally I think if you have the time then I would try it. |

| Daniel does that. I can't and won't force the issue with going and sitting on the toilet/potty so I'm just waiting until he wants to do it. |

My daughter is nearing 18 mths and she is starting to indicate before going 'poos'. She is right sometimes, but not all the time. I wonder if this is an indication she's aware of what's happening with her body and may TT early, or maybe it's just a toddler fascination! What age do girls generally starting training? I am TT my DD at the moment. She is young (just on 19 months today) but she knows what she is doing, tells me wees when she goes and often tells me poos before it happens. I put a lot of effort in with the ground work though - about 2 months ago I started sitting her on the potty when she first got up in the morning, at every nappy change, and then before her bath. We did that for about 3/4 weeks before I started putting her in undies - just for a few hours in the afternoon to start then gradually working up to putting them on first thing in the morning and getting her to sit on the potty every 45 mins. She is about 6 days in to "proper" TT and today she went on the potty 8 times and only had 3 accidents.
I went to a TT course and the lady said to try putting undies on under the nappy to start with so they get the sensation of wet when they wee. With DD that worked really well, within a few days of doing that some of the time and undies (no nappy) on the rest of the time she got the connection between the feeling and the wees that came out. I don't really know whether your DD is ready or not Bizzy but if I see it looks like Gabrielle needs to go I suggest she sits on the potty while we read a story or we play with a toy together. Or I get her to sit there while she has a drink. The other thing the TT lady said was that sometimes the kid has to be able to relax to be able to go on the potty/toilet - thats why they often sit and do nothing and then get up and pee on the floor.
