Sorry for another thread but!

This morning I asked Caden if he had done poo's and he pointed to his bum and said "poo" and "ba ba" which is how he says bum bum lol

I checked his nappy but he hadnt done anything, so I put him on his potty and he said poo again and bum bum.
How long do I leave him there? Do I try and keep him there for a certain amount of time or just let him get up when he wants?
Does he sound ready to start TT?? eek

I think it's good that he is recognising the words, but not necessarily the "motion".

I never trained my kids on the potty, they were trained straight to the toilet.. personal preference though.

If he wants to sit there, let him... and if he does do something, make a huge deal of it.. so he knows that doing wees or poos on the potty is ok.

Some kids are ready at 2, others aren't.. I think it's up to mum and bubs.

#3 is no where near interested so we'll try once the weather warms up..

Good luck.

Cool thanks Mel :)

My nana gave us the potty, she had at her house for us kids when we were tots lol, so its been in the family a long time!

But, I have seen those little toilet seats for kids in K Mart and they had one with Thomas on it, and Caden LOVES Thomas(he has the step to match) so might go for that soon and see what he does.

Gosh this TT stuff is like being a new mum again haha

Thats what I think!! It's hard lol

We started DS and for 2 weeks he did quite well but then went backwards to the point he would wait until his nappy on to do anything and got really upset about it. We are having a break and waiting until he shows more signs.

LOL Sheza, I know exactly what you mean. I had been freaked out about TT since Sam was born!

I say let him sit on it if he wants too definitley. Sam sits on hers and watchs TV

My SIL works at a daycare and she gave me the best advice ever. She just said that when they are ready it is easy. If its a struggle then they are probably not ready yet.
We tried with Sam a couple of times but she just wasn't interested even though she would tell us when she had done wees or poos in her nappy. She just didn't want to have anything to do with knickers, pottys or toilets!
She started Kindy in mid May and within 2 weeks TT'd! Totally took me by surprise, but the most amazing thing is how easy it was! There were a couple of accidents in the first few days but it has now been 3 weeks today and no accidents since. She takes herself off to go when she needs to and just calls out when she is done, and she will happily use the potty or toilet where ever we are   I am so glad I didn't push it and just waited till she decided she wanted to do it

I agree with mama2two! Jakes fully tt'd now (has been during the day for ages now) and its easy as - so easy in fact that we haven't had to do anything!!! Hes let us know when he wants to use the toilet and not use nappies and yeah there have been accidents but its certainly not a battle!
Nights were abit different. We had to leave his nappy off at night coz he had a reaction to something (still no idea what but had something to do with his naps!) and got a badly chemical-burnt bum, so we had to get him up a couple of times a night for toilet and still had wet sheets regularly but interspersed with dry nights and last night he had 9 hrs with no toilet trips coz Tyler slept through too so we didn't wake up haha but he was fully dry! We just stayed relaxed bout it even with the wet beds, took an oh well it happens kinda attitude and Jake was able to stay chilled too.
Sorry if this doesn't flow I'm typing onehanded
