Hey ladies

Jayden now has the side off the cot and bedtime is fine he goes straight to sleep but he has now stopped having day sleeps! he just gets out and starts playing! the first few days I got up about 20 times to put him back to bed and he still didnt sleep and the last few days I have just gone with it and have shut the door and left him in his room for an hour or so for "rest time" and he is happy being in there but isnt sleeping!

Anyway so I was wondering at what age did your monkey drop their day sleep? and what do others do for their "quiet time' if they wont sleep?

My Brooke is starting to miss the odd day sleep at the moment, and she's usually pretty reliable with her sleeping.    Hopefully it's the big molars coming through, cos it's better for her and I that she does have a little nap.

I've heard of 4 yr olds who still have afternoon naps - I don't think mine is going to be one of those.

Hopefully it is just a phase of 'awareness' your son is going through.  I've noticed Brooke now does a bit of babbling before falling asleep - just because she can force herself to stay awake for a bit!  It's good though that your son otherwise plays quietly and stays put.

Gosh my 14 month old can spend up to an hour fiddling and mucking around before going to sleep! Today he managed to get to under the change table and empty al the wipes out... one by one... I am not letting him drop the afternoon sleep though! Better for all concerned if he sleeps

I tried and tried to get Jack to have day sleeps from about 2yrs and it was such a mission, in the end I gave up when he was about 2.5yrs or maybe before that, it as just too hard and stressful. He wouldn't sit quietly in his room so when he needs a rest he usually watches tv, it's the only way to get him to sit still and be quiet!
