DS is a fusspot and survives on finger food (sandwiches - no clever filling, bananas, fruit, yoghurt, crackers, fish fingers) but I cannot get a vegie into him. He is fussy about textures and doesn't put just anything into his mouth.

I've tried kumara, pumpkin, brocoli, cauli, potato, carrots, corn, peas - cooked, uncooked, crumbed, covered in cheese sauce or gravy.

Any sneaky ideas? Do I keep offering them?

I'm actually quite disheartened as I've spent hours and lots of money in the last year making all kinds of nutritious food for him that just gets turned down.

An omelette?   My DD wolfs them down. She goes through stages of rejecting everything, but for some reason she loves omelettes (think more like fritatta)

I add, garlic, parsley (chopped finely) .. fish/mince/sausage etc .. cooked vege, pumpkin/kumara etc.. silverbeet/spinach/peas.

Cooked on stovetop with olive oil then in the oven to grill.

Other than that, no answers sorry.. I feel much the same way when DD biffs everything over the side!

I sneak vege's in everything.   I grate them up and add them to all sorts. Alex loves fritters so I used to make up veg fritters or add veg to corn fritters and he would wolf them down.

Daniel loves his vege but only if they are plain, if its got sauce on it he won't touch it.

How about in a meat ball or something like that & then it's still finger food

I make meatballs and put grated carrot and grated courgette in them. He loves meatballs and doesnt bat an eyelid with the veges hidden in them!

Could you try hummus with veges to dip in it?

The other option could be vege juice?

Since he eats fruit, I wouldn't be too concerned - it's pretty normal. Nutritionally, fruit and veges are interchangeable.

I'd suggest just keep perservering - serve the veges up with his dinner everynight, and aim to get one or 2 bits in.

You might also have some success with frozen vege (cold, straight from the freezer) - plunket said this is ok. My big girl cooks them up in her pot while I'm cooking, and gobbles them up while she's at it.
