All I can think of is, are you giving her fingers foods? I know my DS1 went through a stage of only wanting to feed himself (but I can't remember what that age was) Also, have you tired her on a cup or cup with a straw?

Sorry, I probably not much help. Good luck!

DD was the same, she never really took to solids and would only eat finger foods ( mostly grated cheese and banana) till she was about 10 mnths and still isn't the best eater. Have you tried BF during the day ?

My DD has never been a big eater, and Plunket told me she still has to many BFs for her age. But she asks for BFs, and at least that way I know she still gets what she needs.
It is only in the last few weeks that her appetite has picked up, and some days (not every day mind you) she will suddenly eat heaps.

I'm probably not much help.
But why would solids be better than BFs? It seems to be a plunket belief, but I have read books that state that at this age BM is still the most important food, and all solids are just play.

i think up until one.......as then the nurtrien is basically none existant.......i went to plunket yesterday she has lost weight...nearly 1kg and hasnt actually grown so has been refered to dietician and paeditrics (pardon spelling) she was concerned...........when you look at her she looks nice and chunky but i said to my mom at the beginning of the week that she felt lighter when i picked her up.........she has problems with her bowls too ....coloxyl and lactuallose didnt work enemya did but she screamed so i think everything is related.............she was up every hour last night wanting a feed........yet during the day she is happy not to go near boob...........i thought ty was a picky eater but he ate well when he wanted but this girl is stressing me out........told her when i saw her (birth) that she was gonna be the good kid that never got sick....lol boy did she get mummy back. she will eat alot of twisties do you think i can breed her on that lol she might turn a bit orange im thinking

Poor you - feeding issues are really stressful. It sounds like she is making up for it at night.

I have found that when DD has had fussy stages I changed how I was feeding her - made her food more chunky or changed what she was eating. Often her fussy stages are triggered by eating more salty or sugary foods. It's almost like they de-sensitise her taste buds.

The other thing is - does she eat with you and/or other children? Sometimes watching others helps. How about things like banana smoothies (ie a banana whizzed up with milk/formula)?

Ella1 - how many is too many? I was still giving her about 4 BFs a day at one.

At the moment between 3-5 during the day + several at night. She's been feeding more and more at night lately, so I'm considering upping the daytime feeds again. (I better not tell plunket    ).
She doesn't have big feeds, but she's always been a snacker.

Oh Tysmummy, that must be worrying when she loses weight.

I'm pretty sure that BM doesn't lose any of it's nutritional value after 1.
