Ava is going to a 2nd birthday party in a couple of weeks. I have no idea what to get the birthday boy.

Any suggestions?!!

For us it would be anything car related. Or a train, aeroplane, helicopter, bus ... I am sure that you get the general gist!!!

I am going to say though that at 2 they probably have more trains, cars, trucks, balls etc than any one really needs - esp if there are other kids in the family.

Other gifts that my 2 year old got for his birthday were musical instruments (the cool wee wood ones), pretend power tools etc and these were a huge hit.

Just another option.

We got a road mat from the Warehouse. It was about $15 and great since the kid then had something to drive the cars on.

My 2 yr old still loved books (not board ones...."big boy" books). Crayons...bath ones were a HUGE hit. duplo (but probably a bit expensive)....sand pit toys, a gardening set, quality wooden toys, bubbles, torch...etc.

Check out this website: www.thewoodenboy.co.nz (sorry don't know how to make it a link) for some different ideas - animal puzzles, name puzzles and lots more. Will also make to order.

power tools are big round here with my 2yo. the real sounding weed wacker is so popular his 3 & 5 yo friends fight him for it!

bath toys, bubbles and books are also good for any age. Playhough is also quite popular - this bob the builder one where you squeeze it through a concrete mixer.

Also, crayola washable markers and paper is a hit with my young man.

The Warehouse in my area has parallel import Crayola Washables for $2.99 a packet. Can't see anything wrong with them and they work well!
