Definitely not before age one. The makeup of cows milk is really not suitable for tiny babies - not enough vitamin E and iron, and too much sodium, protein and potassium.

It's too much for a tiny infant to digest, and can be dangerous.

If she won't take formula then you will have to exclusively express to feed her EBM. Perhaps you could try expressing, and adding a bit of formula to the EBM. By slowly adjusting the amounts you can get her used to the taste of it.

My boy developed an allergy to formula so we swapped him onto cows milk about 11 months at my doctors recommendation. We have never looked back

A friend did 11 1/2 months or slightly before. Me, haven't had the luxury of being able to offer cows milk but cause my bub is skinny I would have tried on with formula or something boosting to give them more nutritious.

How many feeds a day is she having? Could you supplement most of them with yoghurt, cheese etc and then just do a morning and night BF?

We started weaning to cows milk from about 10 months. He was still being bf too and eats really well so i didn't stress about the nutrients etc. He's a little fatty so not short of anything!

I dropped one bf and started one bottle and then 3 weeks later another and then 4 weeks later another so he was fully on milk by one. That way my boobs just slowly adjusted and i had no issues there.

Well i know people will think very badly of this but ohwell.

I started dd at 8 months when i stopped BFing, she wouldnt take to formula.

I start 1/2 water 1/2 cowsmilk & slowly got to full cows milk within 4-6 weeks.

I would buy Karicase drops from the chemist. They were about $13 and you added a few drops to each bottle which gave the vitamins etc.

DD never had any issues with it, she had never had issues with any food. Both DP & I dont have allegies etc either, if we did i wouldnt have done it.

We started on cow's milk at 12 mths.  We started by mixing 1/2 formula and 1/2 cow's mik for about the first month, so she wasn't onto full cow's milk till about 13 mths old.  We've noticed no problems thank goodness.  Brooke really loves her milk and we can't seem to get her off three bottles a day down to two!
