Rachel and I are worrying (joke) about our 'babies' becomming toddlers too soon lol

But we don't know what age it's 'officiial'? We though at age one and then Mum said yesterday oh no they're babies till at least they're 2!

So what's the general concensus? It's not important just interesting cos I don't know!

I don't think there is a set age - I class my girl as a toddler because she can speak in sentences and walk (with confidence, those first steps are baby steps).

I classed mine as a toddler once he could walk properly

Once walking properly.
My boy was a toddler at one and is becoming more of one everyday.

OK so it seems to be when they're actually 'toddling' (as opposed to pulling themselves up)? SO really could be anywhere from age 1 -2? Is that right?

I consider them a toddler once they are past one and walking well.
Caden was walking at 9 1/2 months, but was still my baby, once he got to 11 months he was running, and then once he turned one, I called him my toddler

Now at 20 Months Caden is well and truely a toddler

They will always be "babies" but I think a toddler needs to be a) over 1 and b) walking ...or toddling and c) throwing tanties and having attitude! you'll know

hmmmm thanks NZpiper.......Clodagh is *already* throwing paddies on a fairly regular basis!  It's kind of cute right now but I suspect it won't be before much longer. How is it that she got a red headed fiesty temperament but not the lovely red hair to go with it? lol

haha nzpiper, yep and the tanties!!

lol Karen, just wait until she is older, then you will understand what a tanty is

Caden is terrible, he will find a sharp edge and purposely hit his head on it and then come to me crying (this is after he has been told off) and he has just started throwing himself on the floor and throwing things, and hitting me in the face etc. Charming

haha, Caden was the same from a young age so I was like OH GREAT! But most of the time he is a good boy

But with the tantys, I find the best thing is to ignore him and he stops. His big thing at the moment is throwing himself on to the floor, then he lays on his back and looks at me like he is thinking "mummy you suck!", then he laughs

I call my little man who's almost 16 months a toddler. He's well into the tanty stage too - and everything is getting whacked at the moment - me, his Dad, the dogs, the cats.... hopefully it's just a phase!!!

Haha Karen finally I found the thread you were talking about the other day
Chelsea is definitely still a baby then even though she's over 1 she doesn't walk yet (although she has started walking along with the trolley my dad made her for her birthday... eek!) and doesn't really have tanties *phew*!!
