I have just changed a nappy of Maddi's and I noticed a couple of small white, string like things in the nappy?
I was just wondering if they could possibly be worms and could totally explain her behavior lately? She has been really difficult to settle at night and keeps waking up saying she is sore. Her nappies have been sloppy and diarrhea like, coming every 30 minutes for a few hours each night. In the day she is super grouchy, and throws a mega wobbly if I try to sit her in her pram. I haven't noticed much difference in her eating (which I what I thought I was supposed to be looking out for) although she hasn't been eating much breakfast. Up until now I had just thought she was teething and tired, grizzlyness and runny nappies but after typing all this down I am thinking it sounds a lot more like worms. We have taken worm tablets before but Maddi has never taken one because she has been too young? Are there any tablets safe to give under 2's? Do I need to see a Dr or can I just buy the tablets from the chemist, and if I just buy from the chemist is it ok to give them if my diagnosis is wrong? -------------

Every time someone in our family has had worms the chemist has told us everyone has to take the tablet regardless of if they have worms or not.
Speak to the pharmacist as they can tell you exactly what to take and help you with your diagnosis. All I can think to ask is has she been scratching her bottom? i cant remember how old she is... there are natural remedies you cant take... hang on she is the same age as eden! duh! shes almost 2 so i would give her one, i'm going to be worming my lot cause of the new kitten.

There are a few medicines for 2 and over - if your daughter is not below weight for her age and pretty close to 2 I would go and ask the pharmacist for something. Otherwise take her to the doc - they will give you one of these on script - although that probably wont make it any cheaper - at least you know you are doig the right thing. It definately does sound like worms .
They have banana flavoured syrupor even chocolate squares so shouldnt be too hard to get it in her!! ------------- http://lilypie.com]

ok yes there is medicine its in liquid form and you can get it over counter all thought its free ifyou get it from script.......also a way to check is at night to shine a flash light at her bottom and if it glows you will know (sorry mums a nurse i tried to do it nicer then how she says it) also if it is doze your whole family and change all the linen.......leave no stone un turned......those buggers stay around. my boy was 2 when i ran out of the liqued so tried him on the chocolate squares and then i had one........rather yummo if i do say so....and they look like a cake of cadbury chocolate so he thought it was yum yum time lol........although you do have trouble stopping them at just the one................good luck ------------- http://lilypie.com">  http://lilypie.com">

Ok, this will be my third attempt to post on this thread.
My DD had these not so long ago. She would be fine until bed time came and then would complian about having a sore bum and needing to poo all the time. By about the third night my Mum told me to check her bum with a torch and yep she had them. They looked exactly like a white cotton thread. We went to the chemist and had to treat the whole house except DS as he is not over 2. She said to keep an eye on his nappy and if I came across worms in his nappy to take him to his doctors as they should subscribe something for him. Fortunately he did not have them. I would strongly advise washing all things cloth in your house. Thankfully one dose was enough for us. -------------
